| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 5, 2009 22 oz bomber thanks to beernbourbon, these are the type of "bonus beers" he gives in trades, unbelievable. Pours a clear amber with an off white head that leaves a sticky lace. Super resinous hop aroma with a dominate pine and floral aroma, there is also a caramel malt smell that sneaks in. The flavor is surprisingly mostly sweet, the bitterness is there but is blended well with the big malt base, the alcohol is also hidden. A beer on the high medium body range and a slick, smooth mouth feel. This is a great IIPA and I really got to thank Vince for treating me to this. Thanks Vince. soccer290 (137), Highland Park, Illinois, USA

Had 2B Heavy Handed, thought it was Ok (not great, but not horrible) and saw this, thinking it may be better since I like I-IPA’s more. Pours a reddish copper color with a small off-white head that dies slowly. Smells of hops, citrus, a little malt, and possibly some pine. A little more impressive than I was expecting in aroma. Tastes of hops and a fair bit of malt, with the pine and citrus disappearing. Kinda unfortunate, as I was hoping for more of a citrus taste to it. Goes down fairly smoothly, though it is a little big on the IBU scale, I will give it that, but it is unnecssarily so. Not the best I-IPA I’ve had, and for the price, I’d rather a Hopslam (my fav for the price, though if price isn’t an issue, Dreadnaught is tied with it. phukktifano (159), Richmond, Virginia, USA

Poured a dark copper amber with a "diminishing to a light film" white head and modest lacing. The aroma was strong notes of citrus and pine with some sweetness of fresh fruit and malt. The flavor added a bit of caramel and a potent, "lasting to finish" hop bitterness. Full body in it’s flavor and appearance. Good stuff! esjaygee (1531), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Shared this bomber of two brothers with my two brothers. Excited for this one, but in the end a little let down since it wasn’t a stellar example of the style. Reddish amber with a medium tan head. Aroma trumps the flavor as the grapefruit and citrus hops come across in a nice way here and are balanced out by some sweet caramel malt. But still, I’m spoiled and I wanted it bolder. It says "double" and it was more akin to "single". Hops come across in the flavor but a bit less prevalent. Some citrus and grapefruit balanced out by the caramel again. Alcohol noticeable a touch, but nothing overpowering. A bit of corn stalk mixes in with it and it finishes up a moderate
