Commercial Description:
Hop Juice is one of a series of special limited-run beers in styles that are more extreme or unusual. This one is a real hop blast, dripping with the resiny soul of fresh Northwest hops. Don't come crying to us if it's too much for you; this one's for hopheads only! And get it now, cause when it's gone, it's gone. Boo hoo. 22.7 Plato 100.1 IBU

Nice deep amber coloured body with a super thin tan head (that fades right away) and very little else. Aroma of pure hops (high a.a.), malt, cane sugar and even some nuts. Medium-bodied; Super strong hoppy flavour with a potent maltiness, strong sugars and the mouth-coating consistency that makes an IIPA exactly what it is. Aftertaste shows so much of the hops, but also a bit of the sugars and plenty of the full malt. Overall, a decent IIPA, a bit less obtrusive than others and more palatable to me. Worth trying if you prefer IPAs over IIPAs, but could stomach the latter. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at Rick’s Beer & Wine in Chicago, Illinois on 13 January 2007.

Orange body. Thin head. Pine is strong here. Nice carbonation. This is a solid brew from these guys, and I think for me this is a hit or miss brewery. Mark one up for the hit column.

Pours a nice amber color, slightly murky looking with no head. Aroma has a watered down citrus flavor with some pine notes behind it. Sweet caramel malt notes also are present. Flavor starts with a citrus hops flavor melded with a caramel malt and moves into a light pine hoppiness middle and ends with a sweet caramel and grassy hops ending. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Overall I was expecting a much strong hopped beer by the description but the beer works and is definitely drinkable but I think it could be better.

Fresh bomber. Pours a clear, dark, orange-amber color with a small, frothy, cream colored head. Micro-spot lacing marks the glass. The aroma shows a prominent toffee malt base, with notes of biscuit and cookie, and a surprising dose of smoked dark fruit. Citrus hops and pine resin are there, but don’t quite stand up to the huge malt. Flavors show a bit more balance, with the citrus and pine hops pushing forward a bit. Gone is the odd smoked note, but buttered toffee and glazed biscuit are still there in a big way. Medium-full bodied and slightly syrupy, peppery citrus bitterness comes through on the finish. Pretty nice, but not nearly as hoppy as advertised.

Bottle. Pours an orange amber body with an off white head. Hops are grassy with citrus, sweet malt and a note of honey as well. A bit floral with a light spicy bite and moderate alcohol warming well masked by the hops.

Thanks to Beerlando. Hops, Honey, Hell YES! Must admit I’d had Hopslam right before this...but still very good. This has more caramel malt than Hopslam does, so it was nice to have my tastebuds not obliterated for a second.

Bomber courtesy of fiver29. Pours a clear medium amber with a one finger white head that results in great lacing. The nose is caramel malt and ripe citrus. The taste is sweet caramel malt upfront with sweet citrus and floral hops finishing it out. Medium sticky body. Pretty good DIPA, a tad sweet, but decent. Thanks John!

bottle from homer321: pours a very nice orange hue with a long lasting tan head. aroma is full of hops that are very clean smelling lots of sweet grapefruit and other citrus. a little grain and a hint of caramel malt. the flavour is very surprising and nice plenty of sweet citrusy hops and lots of floralness too, the malt comes into the beer very well with a slight stickiness and great sweetness. very well balanced and great to drink.
