The grapefruit and floral hops, classic american IPA, really come through in this much more than in other imperials i’ve had (like the 90 minute). Balanced with malts, complex, but very true to its IPA roots. Alcohol is hardly noticeable, dangerously drinkable.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Bottle:   Vibrant amber, very clear, moderate to large frothy off-white head, few rings of lacing, very light carbonation.   Sweet citrusy nose, some orange zest and hop/pine hints.   Very zesty on the tongue, hop and pine
notes are there but aren’t bitter.   Certainly malty, good body, somewhat viscous mouthfeel.   This is another one of those that isn’t a hop bomb, thankfully.   I just noticed my glass was all gone... damnit, I was beginning
to enjoy this one.   Not heavy, not overly hoppy, decent malt base, with some citrus zest sweetness and minor hop/pine aspects.   Very enjoyable, moreso than I would have thought.   Thanks Tyler for this beaut!

Super hoppy nose with notes of bananas and citrus. Taste is sweet, honey, caramel with prickly hops in the end. Quite nice and different, to be sure. BOLTZ7555 (1121), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Vibrant tangerine pour with hints of 24 karat gold and a massive ivory head that left a spider’s web of lacing. Aroma shows citrus and pine but also balance with caramel and biscuit notes. Similarly, the flavor isn’t overly aggressive and bitter like most West Coast IPAs...lemongrass, orange peel, honey, all fresh baked bread even one another out. Medium to syrupy mouthfeel. Lingers on the palate. Yum. BierBauch (651), Cape Coral Waterfront Wonderland, Florida, USA

Clear copper in color with Thick and lasting head which laces the glass well. Not the big blast of hops I was expecting. Pine, citrus, Northwest hops. Medium body. Typical flavors of fruit, hops and malt. Pretty average for the style. ben4321 (1054), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma: The part of the aroma that stands out is a lot of citrus fruitiness, along with some resiny hops.
Appearance: It pours a nice looking caramel-orange color with a thick, foamy tan head and lots of lace.
Flavor: This beer is quite sweet and fruity up-front with a nice hop bite that starts subdued, but grows as it warms.
Palate: The mouthfeel on this beer is fairly creamy with a medium body and some back-end alcohol burn.
Overall Impression:
I thought this beer was pretty good. I got a lot of citrus in the nose (which was to be expected from the name), and gave off a nice impression of what might be coming next. At first, the flavor was a little sweeter then I was expecting without quite the hop bite I might have guessed, but as the beer warmed just a bit the hops really came out. Eventually, I got a big fruity/citrus flavor up-front with a powerful hop backing that just really shows up more and more as the beer opens.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2009 22 oz bomber. A good and strong and hoppy aroma like a dipa should be. There’s alot of good fruity notes with melons, minor berry, thick citrus, as well as some earthy and light resiny hop, light candy sweetness, and straight pale grains. Pretty decent on the pour too with a small-medium layer of creamy white head, decent retention and some lacing, medium-full appearance, and a bright crimson color. The flavor profile actually sntruck me as beig fairly mild for the abv and compared to the aroma though not by any means a light beer as there’s a good kick to it. Really the beer is well balanced and good feeling, I just think the flavors don’t really stand out as they should. It shows the promise of a nice sweet grainy malty side that balances out the strong citrus/earthy hop but they jumble together a little too much so that neither really shows their true identity. I think with a bit of tweaking, this would be an top notch imperial ipa. It’s still quite good despite my nay saying. guerinfbfan (50), Elmwood Park, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Oct 18, 2009 Pours an amber/orange color with a small tan head. Huge amounts of citrus and hops off of the nose. Tastes of an immense amount of citrus, but also some fruits. It finishes up with a bitter kick that lasts. Nice DIPA, the alcohol jumps up on you in this one. jeremytoni (1122), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA
