Commercial Description:
Okay, it was going to be a Maibock, but you know how mischievous goats can be...anyway we ended up with this delight. What to do but add a crack of black pepper? Around here we call it Goatzilla, but don't let that fool you, it's mellow as a kitten.

Clear reddish copper color, with a slim head of off-swhite suds. Okay head retention and lacing. Caramel malt in the aroma is nice. The flavor is sweet, but not overly so. Good sweet caramel malt up front, a little fruity, with a hint of licorice. There is a dry toasted malt in there too, with some moderate hop bitterness for balance. I don’t get much in the way of a cracked pepper flavor - but there is a zip to the carbonation and mouthfeel that suggests its presence. Smooth beer, but with the licorice, fruit, and pepper it comes off tasting and feeling more like an ale. Definately not your ’clean’ lager beer.

Orange-amber color with small head. Sweet, malty aroma. Taste is an interesting mix of flavors - Pepper? Its unique to say the least. Honey and flowery sweetness are pleasant, but not quite what you expect. Sits nicely on the tongue. Overall, a pretty unique interpretation of the style.

Sweet toffee and honey flavors from malt up front. Slides smoothly into a waxing bitterness in the back. A pretty big level of noble hop flavor in the back, bringing a big but very soft and palatable bitterness. I would never have guessed pepper, but knowing it’s there I can pick it out slightly. Not too sweet, but a little too much honey (or something like that) flavor stays around from the start to the finish. I actually think I would like this a little better if it was just done as a traditional bock. The toffee/honey flavor is a bit much.

Today was a LONG day at work, so tonight is Doppelbock night! The line up consists of Bell’s Consecrator Doppelbock, Capital Autumnal Fire, and Two Brothers Incinerator Blonde Doppelbock. First up was the Bell’s, then came the Capital, and finally it’s time for the Incinerator!... Well, I must admit that I’m a bit scared of this beer after reading through some of the reviews. However, I am an undetered supporter of Two Brothers Brewing and their Artisan releases, so here goes... Two Brothers Incinerator Blonde Doppelbock is a clear, interesting deep golden color with and amber amber hue (light honey colored, I guess) and a dense ivory head that collapses fairly quickly. Mild to moderate amount of visible carbonation. The aroma is initially floral and yeasty, but then some maltiness comes out after the head collapses. The flavor is a lightly malty and sweet and has lots of honey to it. The finish is mildly bitter and floral. This beer is medium bodied, but feels light on the palate and is soft and smooth going down. There is a soft peppery-like dryness in the finish. The alcohol is especially well hidden. I did not pick up too much of the black pepper in this beer which is a shame because I was kind of looking forward to the complexity and uniqueness that it could have imparted. At any rate, this was a good brew, but not quite up to par with the Bell’s Consecrator or Capital Autumnal Fire... 22 oz bottle (19.2 Plato, 32 IBU, 8.2% ABV). $5.99+tax from River’s Bend.

Poured dirty blonde/orange, with a thick, curling off white head, solid retention. Aroma is off the wall, if not pleasant for it’s eccentricities. Smells like someone threw citrus spices, hops, pineapple juice and perfume into a blender and the lid flew off half way through the metal blade beatdown. Body is light to medium, dancing across the palate due to high acidity with reckless abandon. Flavor is frightening - monstrous pineapple juice mingling with bell pepper, daisies, lavender, spicy hops making a brief appearance and to top all that off, a nasty bubblegum and caramel chews blend. Mouthfeel is pleasant though, and the finish is thankfully short-lived. I NEVER want this in my mouth, or my personal space, again.

Very interresting...Clear light copper. Caramel and fruit aroma. Malty w/ a little spice. Tasty. No idea this had pepper in it when I tried it at a tasting....gave it a nice spice, but not overpowering.

Another apology to Beerdrenched for subjecting him to this. Pours cloudy brown / orange with a beige head. The aroma is perfumy / bubblegum with sharp spice and flowery traits. Medium / light body with some sharp carbonation on the finish. The taste is very soured and taste like fake flower petals, soapy plastic fruits and has a cloying sweetness. Just plain terrible, a drain pour.

bottle-pours oragne with a small white head. nose is fruity as hell-total alcohol soaked sweetness. Tastes like bubble gum, like the big league chew i used to get when i was a kid with a touch of mr clean in there as well. this is pretty bad stuff if you ask me palate is not bad with some nice soft carbonation with a lush mouthfeal. my girlfriend says it smells like old lady perfume, which i have to agree. two brothers never impresses me.
