Commercial Description:
Okay, it was going to be a Maibock, but you know how mischievous goats can be...anyway we ended up with this delight. What to do but add a crack of black pepper? Around here we call it Goatzilla, but don't let that fool you, it's mellow as a kitten.

Hazy amber/orange with an insignificant off white cap. Sweet, fruity nose on top of rich malt. Flavor of tropical fruit, rich malt, black pepper, hint of mint near the finish. Unique. Medium/full body, balanced. Strange brew that grows on me as I drink it.

Poured a blonde amber color, nice off-white head, solid lacing. Aroma was of citrus, grass, and maybe some caramel. Flavor was caramel, citrus, some pepper, and very light grass. This thing was sour-caramel, more like a terrible English beer than anything German, let alone a doppelbock. A complete train wreck. They were going for a maibock but got this? Yeah, the fermentation went bonkers, they didn’t control the temperature, and then threw a bag of pepper in it to make something "special"? Right, but I’d prefer to emphasize their terms "unusual" and "extreme," and not in a good way. A bad concoction.

22 OZ bottle via RegallacMC(thank!). Pours a crystal clear amber with a small head.Hmmm i can detect almost nothing in the nose...maybe some vanilla. THe flavor is actually surpisingly quite nice and complex though. Lots of SUBTLE flavors...some vanilla, toffee, chocolate, plums, butterscotch (not Diactyl)...all very subtle and very nice. This is complex, but only if you can kick back and let it come to you....otherwise you might mistake it for a simple boring beer...it isn’t! This is actually world class..just allow yourself to...Let it Be!~

Bomber. Aroma: Rich maltiness with a definate sweetness. Caramel, some light orange, and bit of herbal. Pepper is well done. Just enough to give the aroma of pepper, without any of the harshness that black pepper can bring. Appearance: Pours medium orange and clear. Off-white head is foamy and short lived. No lacing. Flavor: Medium sweet with some bready malt flavors. Peppery spiciness is pleasant. Medium bitterness balances the malt well and lasts just into the finish. A little light fruit and herb in the finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: A tasty beer with some interesting flavors. Pepper is very well done and works well with the other flavors. Good stuff.

Tasting at goldtwins 9/20/06 - Aroma is creamy malt, lemon, and German yeast. Pours orange with a small head and no lacing. Flavor is a mild version of aroma. I think it’s missing something. Palate is clean. It’s different but not noteworthy.

Slightly hazed, slightly reddish copper. Creamy off-white head. Fruity aroma with german hops laced in the middle. Some slightly dried grass too. Sweet fruity body, like sucking on a bunch of grapes and strawberries, with some crackery malt thrown in. Some sour grapefruit in the background too giving it almost a weizenbock-like feel. Pretty good, 22oz would be too much though. Could get cloying.

Pours a dark amber with a nice head. The aroma is very heavy malt with some floral or spice in the background. The taste is the same--plenty of malt with some spiciness in the back. Not bad at all.
