Commercial Description:
Okay, it was going to be a Maibock, but you know how mischievous goats can be...anyway we ended up with this delight. What to do but add a crack of black pepper? Around here we call it Goatzilla, but don't let that fool you, it's mellow as a kitten.

(22oz bottle) Crystal clear amber body with big beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, plum, chocolate, caramel, light nut. Taste is the same, with an alcohol warming in the finish. Smooth medium-full body that holds the alcohol well -- its origins as a Maibock are evident in the mouthfeel. Regardless of its style, however, it’s wonderful.

(Regardless of its increasing popularity, I like the goat-homage to Celebrator!) Deep amber sans cloudiness with a small, cream-colored head that faded quickly. Milky & floral aroma with grape juice. Thick & warming with alcohol notes up front. Full flavor touches on all components... malts, yeasts and hops wth a juicy/fruity breadiness being the dominant flavor. Citric hops linger with a hint of pepper. Very good!

This bock pours a deep orange color from a 22oz bottle. Very small sized head. Aroma is orange, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied bock. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are mild and slightly grapefruity. Lots of orange and peach flavors. Nice carbonation. Very smooth taste. Mouthfeel is very full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Thanks to Dough77 for sending this one. Starts out with a large creamy head of light brown that sits above a dark amber body. Good malty aroma that is followed by a big malty flavor. There was a spicy bite in the finish that puzzled me until I read the label and saw the peppercorns listed as an ingredient. I don’t know how peppercorns fit into the standard Doppelbock as an ingredient, but they get away with it this time. Nice beer.

I picked up this bad boy in Madison. Sampled at Noogfest 2006. The body was dark gold and almost orange. There was a thin white head on top. The aroma was sweet pears with cinnamon and hay. The taste was sweet pears with toacco. Very smooth for the high abv. Another good special edition from this brewer. They keep getting better.

Pours a clear copper with a small head. Honey and toast float from the aroma. The flavor has a moderate bitterness. Slightly warm. Rich mouthfeel.

22oz bottle-Caramel and malty aroma on an amber body. Nice malty and slight hop taste with a bit of caramel on the back end. Alight to medium body. Overall a good tasting beer.
