gws57 (988), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA Apr 25, 2008 Got this one on draught in a growler at the brewery in Warrenville, Illinois. Medium orange pour with a thick, foamy white head. Nice banana and orange peel nose. A bit zesty and spicy, but with a silky mouthfeel. Unusually peppery for a belgian wheat. Might taste good with a wedge of lemon but I didn’t. Soft finish. A pretty good American example of the style.
General_Gao (2480), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 22, 2008 12oz bottle. Pleasant aroma of yeasty bread dough, corn bread, and light citrus. Poured a cloudy yellow color. The head was fluffy, white, and reduced over several minutes. Some lace was left behind at the end. Light to medium bodied with light acidity and sweetness. Tasted of yeasty bread dough, orange rind, and coriander. I occasionally tasted a bit of metal that detracted somewhat. Not bad. jbuzz (458), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 11, 2008 Two Brother’s Brewery night Three Cellars Milwaukee.
Very nice Belgian ! Creamy and fresh Coriander and little orange peel. esjaygee (721), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 10, 2008 Hazy pale yellow with a thin white head. Aroma of orange peel, coriander, citrus and yeast. Taste of coriander, orange, spice and wheat. Crisp and dry finish, so-so witbier. Gregis (904), Overland Park, Kansas, USA Jun 21, 2008 Bottle purchased at Corral Liquors in Granite City, IL. Pours a hazy gold with a ton of rising bubbles and a large, frothy (yet fairly dense), white head. The nose is a slightly dusty, sour wheat with supporting notes of coriander and mild orange peel. Light-bodied and thin with a short spicy finish. Similar to the nose, the flavor is a traditional witbier profile with the pendulum swung heavily toward the coriander side of things. A tad overly spiced and unbalanced for my tastes, but it’s a serviceable wit. With a bit less coriander and/or a bit more orange peel, this would be my kind of witbier. Walt (2268), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 14, 2008 Pour is lightly hazed bright yellow...taste is peppery at first with a nice toasty flavor coming out as it warms...quick clean finish...
