Aroma of tropical fruits, perhaps papaya and/or passionfruit?...in any case, fruity hop goodness. Flavor adds a big dose of sweet malt to all the fruity hoppiness. Tasty stuff. Pint served a deep amber with a modest, off-white head that reduced fairly quickly to a layer but left some clingy lacing. Nose was smooth malt, and a solid compliment of floral/citrusy/resiny hop notes. The flavor exhibited a nice balance of the malt and hops, finishing with a decent hop bitterness. A refreshing, standard IPA. 6/18/09, Now a little more sweet, caramel malt is present in the flavor. Dough77 (777), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 1, 2009 nice enjoyable, possibly sessionable, crisp hoppy offering. has a slight marshmellowness taste to it mixed with heavy resiny piney hop, some notes of caramel. overall something I wouldn’t kick out of the fridge for spilling crackers if a mini keg made its way in there. chicagodri (1057), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Was on tap @ Map Room. Pours clear amber with small off white head. Aroma of caramel malt, which was stronger than the citrus hops...not really what I was expecting from an IPA. Decent body, easy to drink, but not very strong hop flavor. Was average. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2009 On tap at the Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Commemorative for and drank on Closing Day. Pours a nice amber hue, a bit dark, reddish, small offwhite head that dies to a film. Aromas are a bit of caramel malt, fruity with some underlying grapefruit, lemon, zest. Body is moderate, caramel and good fruit, a bit underhopped but surprisingly drinkable. Finishes a bit bitter, grapefruit and a touch tropical with faint piney resin. I will truly miss my stomping ground, The Galway Tribes. Cheers! zapprentice (310), East Setauket, New York, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Had fresh from the tap at For the Love of the Hops! 2009 festival. Pours a clear red/amber color with about a 1/2 inch white head. Aroma is a strong floral hops with a moderate amount of citrus and pine/resin flavor and low caramel malt notes. Flavor first starts with citrus, moves into pine and caramel and ends with a heavy bitterness. Perfect density and balance between the hop bitterness and sweet malt profile. Overall a great brew.
