| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 4, 2009 This was pretty good. All I wrote in my notes was meh. I usually write this when I’m tired of taking notes on beers. But I’m still going to enter this rating. Not too much coffee in this one given its name. Okay, but pretty much MEH. pineypower (1096), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 2, 2009 Bottle thanks to Dmac. Pours out black with a moderate tan head. Nice aroma of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and maybe even a touch of some sugary sweetness. Silky smooth mouthfeel, with just the right amount of coffee to make it not taste like straight up black coffee spiked with booze. Notes of chocolate, roasted malts and a touch of some sweetness in there too. Very well done. dmac (1469), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2009 22 oz bottle from Abe’s. Pours a deep dark blackish/brown with a smaller sized beige head. Aroma of fresh brewed coffee, roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla extract, slight alcohol. Palate is medium to fuller with a nice creamy mouthfeel and light to average carbonation. Flavor is more of a mild coffee, slight cream, burnt malts, burnt toast and some slight dark red grapes. Very solid underrated beer. durhambeer (1215), Durham, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 26, 2009 I think this bottle was a touch past its prime, though it was still pretty solid. Some oxidation going on, and perhaps creamier than intended. More chocolate than coffee. Solid, but not amazing. bhensonb (4289), Woodland, California, USA
