Commercial Description:
India Pale Ale style well suited for Hemingway-esque trips to the Upper Peninsula. American malts and enormous hop additions give this beer a crisp finish and incredible floral hop aroma.

I expected a somewhat overpowering IPA from this one,but it was rather relaxing and enjoyable. Earthy with some hints of fruit, very faint though. Sits very nice in the mouth and goes down very smooth. A very great IPA. Would definitly try again.

courtesy of Chris Beers - pours a cloudy orange colour under a huge foamy white head; fairly fruity hoppy nose (mango and apricots) with notes of fresh cream; quite soft mouthfeel and full-bodied; a robust but never aggressive bitterness takes control of the taste; moderately dry bitter and long fruity finish - balanced and robust; very well-made

Batch #8409, Bottled April 1, 2008. Poured a haxy amber orange with a tall creamy off-white head. There was a good sweet malt aroma. There was a light caramel scent and some citrus in the aroma too. There was a mellow sweetness initially then some citrus and a bite from the hops and good flavor on the finish. This bottle was over a year old and the hops had probably mellowed out somewhat, so I’ll have to get a fresher bottle and rerate. It was still rather good

On tap at Chatham Tap, Indianapolis. Beautiful copper coloured beer with a floral hop nose. Wonderful hop flavour and bitterness. Why oh why can’t we have this in Canada?

bottle, pours a light copper with a medium white head. Strong aroma of grapefruit and hops. Light candied malt body that remains lightly sweet until a hop bitterness shows up and builds into a nice dry and bitter finish. Very refreshing and easy to drink.

Cascade hits nose quick, complex texture allows hops to break in to every bit of rich but light malt palate. the bitterness holds long, head is well laced and fizz distributed widely on the palate. As it warms in the glass, more fruitty details come forth. Purity of malt, base bitter and finish taste makes this a fine example; exceptional and obtainable.

batch 9097, bottle courtesy of coyotehunter. nice deep gold pour with a mild haze to it. nice retention on a creamy spongy head. moderate hop notes in the smell with some sweet maltyness to balance it out. notes of lavender and caramel start at the end of the smell and wind up with a nice reappearance through the mid and back of the mouth. nice heavy hop front that is lightly smoothed and complimented by the sweetness so as to never be offensive. very pleasant harmony of bitterness and sweet oily goodness in the aftertaste. i’m sold.

Batch 8986. Strong perfumed aroma, some strawberry and wildflower pollen. Light hazy gold, white sticky head. Lovely blend of hops dance over the soft buscuity malt. Only hops remain in the finish, clean and beautiful.
