Wow pours very dark brown, essentially black with a nice creamy tan head. Retention is great, best of any local i’ve had in ages! Nose is quite peculiar, dark roasted malt with a juicy acidity, no doubt from both malt & apple juice. Palate translates well, very juicy apple notes on the mid palate before dark malt brings a touch of roast but not a whole heap of flavour. Overall everything seems to be a tiny bit muted, or maybe just subtle...? Carbonation is relatively lively which makes it a little creamy. Overall a pretty weird beer, creamy & juicy feel...? But certainly well made & rather enjoyable. Will definitely have again & recommend!

Lovely dark/black colour with a tan head. Dry roasty aromas that follow through on the palate. Could use a little more crystal malt sweetness to balance the roastiness which is quite strong and lends a little to much bitterness for me. But in saying that, this is a good dark ale that I would drink again.

...bottle. Poured a nice dark, murky brown, with a decent chocolate head. Very flavorful, with loads of roasted malt, fruit, and sediment. Looked great in the glass, with visible chunks. Dark fruits complement the roasted notes. Finished with more dark fruit, and roasted notes. I liked this one.

500ml bottle. Thick and tar like in appearance. Coal black with a coffee coloured thin foam head. Aromas of chocolate, roasted coffee & toffee. Sour taste that overwhelms the underlying bitter coffee flavoyur.

Milk chocolate coloured head with good carbonation very dark beer, cannot see through.Aroma coffee chocolate caramel fruit malt.Flavour apple juice chocolate caramel, has vinous taste sour too much apple juice kills the other flavours, the initial taste is bad but once it settles it,s okay and that is how the finish is.

Bottle (330ml). Poured opaque with a dense frothy, off-white head which was average lasing. Aroma was of apple juice and prune juice, pears, raisin bread and some chocolate malts hiding beneath. Flavor was a pleasant light acidic bitterness with some grape skins, sour apples, raisin bread, prunes and a dry tart finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation, quite dry mouthfeel, watery texture and an ok finish.

Dark brown/orange in colour with a thin long lasting off-white head. Good lacing. Low carbonation and medium bodied. Nice coffee and malt flavours with a sweet, dry and slightly bitter finish. 330ml brown bottle.
