I had a pint of this while in Lake Mills, but it was good enough that I decided to get a growler. It’s not a bad price either if you remember to bring your own - $8.00 is a positive steal for anything they have on tap at the moment. This particular beer is not your typical Belgian wit but it is an passable American interpretation of the style.
Aroma / Appearance - A two finger pillowy white head graced my tulip glass. It protected a cloudy yellow body with a trace amount of carbonation. Peppery orange peels highlight the nose which also contains vanilla and pears. Yeasty undertones play against the lemony notes.
Flavor / Palate - Yeasty orange peels fill the mouth with flavor. The followup contains cotton candy and pepper. The mouthfeel is satisfying without being too simple. I was able to pick up the alcohol but it wasn’t overpowering. As it warmed it took on some less positive notes. This is definitely much better at less than room temperature. It’s not the best Belgian wit but then again it’s not the worst either. I would try it again if I had the chance. Skyview (4050), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA

Taste is medium bodied, highly carbonated with yeast, coriander some citrus peel and distinct cloves. Finish is smooth, creamy with a dry clove and pepper aftertaste. Mild aromas of sweet wheat, orange and lemon zest, coriander, and bread yeast. Flavors quite true to form. Light wheat and pale malt, hints of spice including coriander, light cloves and white pepper. Crisp lightly tart finish with a touch of citrus. A very good domestic wit. 1FastSTi (2560), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Growler. Pours to a really hazy yellow body with a very tall frothy airy white head and superb lacing. The aroma is Belgian yeasts, lightly soapy hops, coriander, subtle fruit peel. Too light. The flavor is intensely toasty up front on the first sip with perhaps some specialty grains. Coriander and perhaps a dash of black pepper. A bit of cloves and perhaps a light starfruit. The palate is refreshing, crisp, and spicy. Nice clean texture. I liked it and didn’t see the problems that Dave mentions. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jul 16, 2007 From a growler shared by Blake. Opaque yellow body under a foamy white head. While the aroma is pleasantly spicy with elements of lemon zest, cinnamon and sweet vanilla dough while the flavor falls apart with a sharp lemon rind and green hop bitter twang over a mealy unmalted wheat base. Starchy finish. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 7, 2007 On tap at Tyranena. Poured a very hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head. Aroma picked up semi-sweet toasted bananas with a very pleasant underlying sweetness.. pepper and clove spice accents are very well-done. Flavor had white pepper and orange zest accenting the sweet, toasty banana base.. faint honey sweetness emerges with time.. left a mild spicy impression on the finish. Medium-bodied with great spicy accents around the tongue.. very tasty! Great stuff!
