Poured with a bit of lacing. Color is the best part - orange tea like, with shades of red and pink. Clear beer but can make out only shapes through it. Aroma is very present - all hop - fruit tea and simcoe creaminess. Taste is all hop as well - piney fruity tea like flavor. Just moderate bitterness (false advertising). This beer may not be strong enough to be a DIPA but I feel this really is one. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jul 26, 2006 Amber-colored ale with a head whose color can best be described as "toast". Good hoppy aroma-grapefruit/evergreen. Mouthfeel is very full, tasty brew. Such a smooth flavor for an IPA; I was expecting a lot of bitterness. Color me impressed by Bitter Woman From Hell. I dunno. the finish was long with piney/resiny hops. big lush body for the style. very nice! DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA

Aromas of heavy hops, tropical fruit, black pepper, citrus, pineapple, tangerine, and mango. Medium palate with a huge hop taste, balanced nicely by caramel malt and some grapefruit, mango, tangerine, and piney taste hints. This is a great IPA. Brigadier (1246), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

Having now had both the regular version and this release, I can see why this
one is deemed ’From Hell’. It’s like someone took two IPAs, pulled all the
bitterness out and then put them into a third. This is by far the most
punch I have experienced from an IPA yet.
Aroma / Appearance - The body is a deep amber color with medium
carbonation and little to no head. The bouquet is mostly hops and not in
anything less than excess. The best way to describe it is that it reminded
me of walking through a pine forest on a crisp day last winter. Combine that
with the intensity of a field of wheats (imagine the one Russell Crowe walks
through in ’Gladiator’ and you’ll get the idea) and you have an aroma that
punches you in the face.
Flavor / Palate - The hops are the first thing one picks up. Extremely
fresh with a combination of bitterness and sourness. Hints of cereal grains,
caramel and wheat sit repressed by the overwhelming hops. The bitterness
does not fade, even after over five minutes. Suprisingly, despite this it is
easy to drink in all other aspects. As long as you make this the last drink
of the night, you should enjoy it considerably. I know I did. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Big citrusy nose. Some light malt in the nose once it warms up a bit as well. Taste is all hops, with just barely enough malt to balance it out. This is a very bitter IPA! Bitter finish stays on your tongue for quite a while after you swallow. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 18, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear orange tea with a moderate creamy bone head; slowly fades. Mild grass with brown sugary citrus peel. Nicely balanced. Can feel the hops in my mouth but not so bitter. Dry grapefruit, apple juice, club soda. Somewhat thin but pleasurable drinking. marcus (1895), Sacramento, California, USA
