| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Ughsmash. Copper with huge off-white head. Aroma is nice balance of pine resin, citrus and bready/toasted caramel. Flavor much the same to start, fades to mostly malt sweetness through the middle, finishes with a very harsh/astringent bitterness. Finish really hurts the score. Medium body/mouthfeel. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 14, 2006 another excellent seasonal from Tyranena! pours a fiery copper with a decent size off-white head. aroma is of mild grapefruit and some pine. flavor is well balanced for an IPA with just enough caramel malt to off-set the hops. very enjoyable! thanks to illini08 for picking this up while in Milwaukee recently. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 14, 2006 Clear dark amber. Minimal malty nose, citurs hops are prevelant but very mild. The flavor is malt centric with hops really only showing through in bitterness.Medium bitter palate. Mainly just a bitter ale. kramer (2510), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 11, 2006 12 oz bottle, via footbalm. Pours a clear dark copper colored body under a creamy one finger off-white head. No sediment in bottle. Aroma is big and citrusy with a toasty caramel malt base. A touch of alcohol as well. Flavor is intensly bitter with a bright citric hop finish. Alot lighter in the malt, leading to an unbalanced flavor. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with fine fizzy carbonation. Slightly sticky on the finish. Well, this was pretty good, but I’m not the biggest fan of heavily unbalanced IPA’s. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA

Resinous and floral with grapefruitpeach, pine and a bit of sawn timber. Clean, bitter flavor with citrus and grass and a little astringency. Maybe a little thin. Nice though. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 5, 2006 The hop aroma was overpowering, but in a good way. Huge pine and grapefruit flavors, some other juicy citrus too, but not sweet. One of the best IPA’s I’ve had. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 2, 2006 Nice one. Very nice one. Big aromas of pine and flowers. Could be the new standard for what IPAs are measured against. Malt up front in the taste, great hops fill in and finish well. Slightly bitter but not negatively so. Medium bodied with a long finish.
