Also a hoppy taste, but not very balanced. Still worth the try, but not something I could drink a lot of. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 11, 2007 12oz bottle via trade with CaptainCougar. Aroma: Toasted malt, caramel, grapefruit and pine, and a light spiceiness. Also get a slight roasted tomato smell as it warms. Not unpleasant, but odd. Appearance: Orange/amber in color and slightly hazed. Off-white head was full and foamy with nice retention. Nice lacing. Flavor: Malt jumps out quicly with some toasty caramel notes. Pine and grapefruit come in strong with some floral, spice, and earth riding in with them. Definatly balanced towards the hops. Bitterness was strong, but not over the top. Medium-dry finish. Palate: Medium bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: A nice IPA with some good hop flavors and a nice refreshing bitterness. MrBendo (1044), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA

Head turns rocky and leaves good lacing. Aroma of grapefruit with a little sweet malt. Taste is bitter grapefruit. Some malts in there, but not enough to bring balance. Medium body. Long, bitter finish. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2006 Updated: Apr 1, 2007Pours a sloppy, big white head atop an amber body, pretty clear. Big grapefruit hops and butterscotch in the nose, seems off kilter even for an india pale ale. Body is medium to full, grainy and seething acoholic heat. Flavor is bready with more spicy grapefruit, wood and vanilla, pine and malts. Finish leaves me wondering where the rest of the flavor is, tasty but off centered. peter (385), Dallas, Texas, USA
