RCL (1443), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Oct 25, 2009 Floral hop aroma with just a hint of rye spicing. Flavor is pretty dominated by hops on the entry, nice malts in the middle, then more solid hop bitterness with a little more of that spicy rye in the finish and aftertaste. Very nice. hopscotch (5440), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Oct 21, 2009 Bottle… October ’09 O-Town Throwdown... Clear yellow ale with a small, fizzy, white head. The aroma presents black tea, caramel, resin and spicy rye. Full-bodied with medium carbonation. The flavor tilts toward the bitter side of balance, but provides nice malty, grainy essences of caramel and rye. Bittersweet, dry finish. Bottle provided by juiceisloose sebletitje (1880), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 19, 2009 courtesy of juiceisloose @ Orlando throwdown.
Pours amber, thin beige head.
Aroma of pine, hops, caramel malts, hints of rye.
Flavor, rye, caramel malts, spiced hops, finish with an enjoyable light bitterness. tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Oct 12, 2009 Pour is red amber body with a thin soapy head. Nose is vegetal and fruity hops with some rye and caramel malts. Interesting mouthfeel, somewhat dry finish but the rye kind of slowly sneaks in, giving a interesting kick at the end. Because of its uniqueness, I enjoyed this over the regular Bitter Woman. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Oct 9, 2009 Clear medium golden, big white head. Aroma, rye, earthy herbal notes. Flavor, earthy toffee, rye, pinE notes. DrnkMcDermott (1832), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 29, 2009 12 oz. bottle, bottled 08MAY09. Whoops, just ’cause it’s a "Brewers Gone Wild" doesn’t mean this is meant for cellaring. Not at 6%. So let’s pop this puppy. Dark amber/orange color, thin head laces up the glass. Smell is a base APA with a bit of Columbia & Cascade. Taste is full of APA action. Plenty of other spices, some of it from rye, but probably just as much from hops. But a great hop bomb, almost sessionable otherwise. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Sep 28, 2009 Bottle from Archer Liquors. Pours amber with a little beige head. Aroma is strongly malty with a fair amount of hop. Medium body with chewy, creamy carbonation. Flavor is more rye malt than not, and the hop is quite floral and fruit. Rye seems to help cut the malt, and the hop helps there too. Got a good taste in the finish. Dry, astringent, bitter. Very good beer. angrypirate06 (678), Texas, USA Sep 28, 2009 Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Clear orangish brown pour. Aroma is soapy, citrus, and malty. Flavor is soap, astringent, grass, citrus, and some sweet caramely malts.
