Whoops, just ’cause it’s a "Brewers Gone Wild" doesn’t mean this is meant for cellaring. Not at 6%. So let’s pop this puppy. Dark amber/orange color, thin head laces up the glass. Smell is a base APA with a bit of Columbia & Cascade. Taste is full of APA action. Plenty of other spices, some of it from rye, but probably just as much from hops. But a great hop bomb, almost sessionable otherwise. bhensonb (4336), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 28, 2009 Bottle from Archer Liquors. Pours amber with a little beige head. Aroma is strongly malty with a fair amount of hop. Medium body with chewy, creamy carbonation. Flavor is more rye malt than not, and the hop is quite floral and fruit. Rye seems to help cut the malt, and the hop helps there too. Got a good taste in the finish. Dry, astringent, bitter. Very good beer. angrypirate06 (781), Texas, USA

Flavor is soap, astringent, grass, citrus, and some sweet caramely malts. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Pours light brown/amber with a small ring of tan head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malt, and spicy rye malt. Flavor is initially quite spicy from the rye with a citrus, fruity malt finish. Pleasant and easy drinking! Nice beer. juiceisloose (671), Windermere, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Courtesy fantomas23. Pours a dark amber-orange color with a thick and foamy off white head that shows good retention and leaves sheets of lacing behind. The aroma shows pine and orange citrus hops up front to go with the toasted caramel malt backbone. Hints of rye grains and spiciness are noticeable as well. The flavor follows and is quite bitter from the citrus and pine hops, but the sweet caramel and biscuity malts are there to balance things out. The rye is more pronounced in the flavor adding bold spiciness that seems to enhance the hop bitterness. Full bodied and smooth with good carbonation that leads to a lengthy bitter finish from all the hops. I like the flavor that the rye adds in this beer. Really nicely done ipa. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2009 Bottle. Poured a clear dark orange color. The head was tall and off white with good retention and lacing. Nice aroma profile that included the likes of hay, bready malt, raw malted barley, and light citrusy hops. Medium bodied and slightly sweet. There was mild bitterness, but less than I had hoped for. A combination of dry grains and subdued orange citrusy hops dominated the flavor. There were also a hint of pine resin. Not a bad rye IPA, but not as good as the one that firmbuttstone brews.
