Poured similar to the Bitter Woman IPA, amber and fairly clear. Pretty big pfffssst upon bottle opening, some suds jumped out actually. The head was also larger than with the standard Bitter Woman. The aroma was strong bitter and floral hops, can’t say I smelled much different, caramel too. The flavor followed, but the bitterness was much longer lingering than with the standard Bitter Woman brew, piney elements along with the floral. This was a nice IPA, good kick in the end. After one more brew tonite, I’ll be ready for bed. Thanks, Bill! ditmier (1117), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2009 After pouring into a shaker glass, I thought the aroma was rather weak for an IPA. Attractive beer, gold/amber in hue. Not cloudy at all. Taste was excellent. It’s not quite the quality of Founder’s Red Rye, or Bear Rep. Hop Rod Rye, but it isn’t too far behind. Love the hoppy, rye bitterness and active carbonation. Great beer from another Wisconson Micro. BeerBelcher (945), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 11, 2009 A far cry and a vast improvement over the regular Tyranena Bitter Woman IPA. This beer is quite a bit bigger (although still has a reasonable ABV) and lacks the watery approachability of the original. Floral and bitter, I liked it a great deal.
It poured a cherry-wood color into my glass with very little head. Aroma is faint, floral, and perfume-y; pretty mild for an IPA, but the proof is in the taste. Flavor is a lot of dry bitterness that sort of slapped me across the face. The bitterness lacked citrus/grass/pine complexity, and wasn’t exactly the essence of hoppiness, but I was still pretty satisfied with it. Mouthfeel was pretty light for IPA, but in no way watery.
Pretty good - I’d have it again, but it wasn’t as pungent as the other Brewer’s Gone Wild series. Ah, makes me sad to not live in WI anymore....wondering if the OH State Fair has a craft beer tent...
This bottle was a gift from Surly Sober.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2009 Twistoff (WACK!!) bottle poured into snifter (thanks Skinnyguy!). Nice copper color with an appealing white head that exhibits nice retention and lacework. Aroma is nice (bitter) hops with a bit of rye malt to balance it out, but not as pungent as I was hoping. The flavor is the same. There is a definite resinous and bitter hop presence, but the malt shines through way more than it should in an IPA. Not enough hop flavor - just dry resinous bitterness, a bitterness that they rye adds to in a way that is is pretty 1D and overwhelming. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall: not a bad beer, but a disappointment. mistersinalin (378), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

The hop character was right on target. I bought only a single, but will try and find a four pack if there are any left. zeke626 (303), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Bottle, pours a pale orange-brown body with off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and floral hops, lemon citrus, caramel malts, and sugar. Flavor is similar with the rye coming near the mid-palate. Medium-bodied; slightly sticky and oily on the palate. Bitter grapefruit and hop resin finish. JJClark (546), Roscoe, Illinois, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours an orangish amber color with a medium off white head. Aroma of earthy hops and citrus. Taste is hops, rye and caramel malt. The flavor is nicely balanced and didn’t flood by mouth with tons of hop bitterness like many of the over hopped/hyped west coast IPA’s. Easy to drink with a smooth pleasant dry finish.
