I’ve been wanting to re-rate this one since it took me a few beers to appreciate the pale ale style and this was the first one I rated. Cloudy orange with a thin off-white lacy head. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, sweet malt and some mild orange. Taste of floral and citrus hops that produces a heavy bitter finish that last long after taking a sip. While not among my favorite pale ales, my new rating does it some justice.\n 12oz bottle. Semi-sweet aroma, pours orange w/ a very thin head. Very overpowering bitter. Medium palate, kind of dry. Some citrus notes in there to go with a fizzy palate(5/3/3/3/9).

Pours a lightly hazy, medium orange-amber. A small, fizzy, off-white head recedes quickly, leaving just a thin edge. Minimal sudsy spotting. Aromas show bitter floral and grassy hops, mildly sweet caramel malts, all over a dry, grainy background. There’s a drop of honey sweetness as well. The flavor is on the dry, bitter side, with a moderate astringency. Grassy, with grapefruit notes, the name "Bitter Woman" really appplies here. I’d like to see a little more balance here. Medium bodied. Goes down a little hash. Decent IPA at best.

(bottle) Pours out a dark copper with a white head. There’s really nothing much going on in the aroma, it’s very weak. What is there are faint scents of sourness, with some light citrus thrown into the mix. Flavor was ok, with a sweet malty and sour taste, and a somewhat lingering grapefruit peel bitterness. Medium mouthfeel, pretty average.

12 oz. Bottle - The aroma is crisp citrusy with a good bready malt presents. The beer pours a clear orange with an off-white head and and soapy lacing. The flavor is nice and balance with emphasis on the hop bitterness. By and large a drinkable and well made IPA.

Sample Hotshots Feb Indy tasting - Aroma is crisp over ripened citrus peel hops. Pours transparent copper with a medium head and good lacing. Flavor isn’t as crisp as the aroma and a lot maltier. Still a little funky on the citrus. Not sure how old this one was, but may have seen better days. Palate was pretty mellow for an ipa, smooth and clean. Will re-rate with a freshy.

12 oz. twist-off bottle. Bit more borwn than the average IPA. Pours a big, bubbly head that’s also a shode more brown. Nice English IPA smell, than an intense hit of pine and grapefruit. After that smell, the grapefruit in the taste actually pales by comparison. But hops and sticky malts combine well for interesting sensations of lemon peel, grass blades and even some apple juice. Distinctive recipe makes this one just a little bot different. Nice peppery burn at the end.
