| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2007 Love the name far more than the beer. Not that I don’t like it. Wisconsin IPA, hell yeh. Bittersweet, just like so many of the loves in my life. I enjoyed and would enjoy having the chance to try again, but for a one shot deal wasn’t just blown away nor disappointed. Good beer to while away the time as friends cope w/ their football fantasy ... shrubber85 (2995), Wallhalben, Germany
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 18, 2007 Bottle (thanks to KingpinIPA). Sweet cherry/apple malt and pine hops aroma. Reddish amber with small head. Sweet cherry-orange flavor at first followed by a moderate pine hops finish. Nice hoppy aftertaste - an excellent fruity IPA. islay (479), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2007 12 oz. bottle. Strong, very pleasant hops aroma: grapefruit, red grapes, lemon. Pours a clear, sparkling, amber-tinted dark brass color. Produces moderate amount of long-lasting, tight cream/beige head and some lacing. Hops dominate the flavor much as they do the aroma. Sharp, dry, citrus and pine flavor. Gin-like (juniper flavors present). In both the aroma and the flavor, the hops aren’t so much "bitter" in the English IPA sense. Rather, they are more citrusy and dry. Sweet, creamy malts complement the powerful hops. A bit of apple juice taste. Very dry in the finish and long aftertaste. Medium body. Smooth in the palate. Easy to drink. Tyranena Bitter Woman is a nice, high-quality IPA, and a good representative of my favorite style. I rated this beer off of the fourth bottle I’ve had from a six-pack. after4ever (2822), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Sep 14, 2007 12-oz. Thanks, FranksnBeans! Pours clear medium darkish amber. Thin white film for a head after a brief appearance by a thinnish moussy layer. Modest resiny nose, some dry leaves, caramel, and charcoal there. Medium body, soft carb, and bold flavors--the leaves, resin, caramel and charcoal persist through the mid-palate and drop off into a nice clingy resinous finish. Nice drinking stuff. beerguy101 (3962), Newark, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2007 This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruity and floral hops. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet. Hops are grapefruity and piney. Nice hop flavor and while it’s a bitter IPA, its not overly so. The Bitter Women from Hell is way hoppier and even more bitter than this one. Nicely balance overly hopped IPA. Yeah that’s what I said and I MEAN IT. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is bitter. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2007 Bottle. Dark copper-orange with a medium soapy white head. The aroma is filled with orangey hops and some yeasty sugars. Bitter right up front with a sufficient toasted bread core. Sugary toffee and butterscotch notes are evident as well. A solid IPA. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a medium off white head. Great looking IPA. Great hoppy aroma with some caramel malt to balance. Again, nice balance, not all hops, mostly, but some malt. This does not disappoint on the bitterness scale. Great dry finish. I enjoyed this one.
