Taste was more sweet than bitter. The hops were present but not really strong. keoki182 (305), West Bend, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2007 Not as bitter as I would have expected. Had a very good amount of citrus (especially grapefruit and lime) present in the flavor. Nose of hop oils. Overall a very good IPA, but not better than Bitter Woman From Hell. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA

Tyranena Bitter Woman pours a hazy apricot color. It has a nice, foamy beige head and a generous amount of carbonation that sustains the remaining puffy crown. There is also some lacing that as a layered appearance to it. Sweet toffee malts and a blend of peach and light apricot hop aromas entise the nose. The flavor has toasted malts highlighted by some light caramel and toffee. The initial moderate level of bitterness crescendos through the floral finish. This beer is nicely balanced overall and has a medium body. The texture is smooth with a bot of creaminess. This is a very satisfying IPA. What a great brew. I am definitely looking forward to trying the other Tyranena IPAs!

Smells rather pine-ey. Taste is not quite as bitter as the name would have you believe, though I would certainly call it bitter. Bitter earthy hops and some malty tastes make up the flavor. Pretty good beer. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Light citrus aroma with a big caramel scent. Flavor was slightly bitter sweet with citrus, light hops, and a nice caramel mouthfeel. Pretty smooth. Ughsmash (4030), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 28, 2007 Bottled. Poured hazy medium golden with a short cap of white head and some yeasties floating around in there. Really enjoyed the aroma of pine and citrus bitters over sweet caramel. Flavor wasn’t half bad either.. sweet pine and citrus base with sharp, but well-placed pine resin and grapefruit bitterness surrounding. Medium-bodied with well-done higher bitterness to it... long, bitter, and slightly cloying finish. Very nice overall.
