Pours an opaque dark, dark brown brew with a creamy tan head. Aroma has dark chocolate, coffee, some toffee, and some fruity hops. Taste is somewhat earthy, and a touch of bitter coffee tang. A bitter aftertaste and then crisp. A very good full body dark porter. BDR (2164), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Nice brownish head with some good lacing to it. Nice strong "coffee" flavor (but if coffee tasted like this, I’d drink it instead of tea). Thanks to Skyview for sharing. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 24, 2007 Personal Milestone: Porter rating #100 (out of 3346) !!!!! A uncomplicated but decent Porter. It’s got a clear dark mahogany body with a tall cocoa head that does some masterful lacing. The aroma is fresh coffee with some sweet lightly roasted malts and a bit of bittersweet chocolate. A light earthy bitterness is added to the flavor that balances the dink out nicely. Good.

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 2/10 | 3/5 | 4/20 | Apr 12, 2007 On tap, I can say I really didn’t like this one. Tasted nothing like your typical porter, the most dominant flavor was berry-like. Problem was, it tasted like rotten berries. It looked good, smelled decent, but tasted pretty bad. Didn’t care for this at all. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2007 Bottle. Roasted chocolate malt aroma with a light lactose aspect. Favorable. Fully opaque body with slight red hues when held up to light. Yellowish off-white head. Excellent lace! A little light, but nice flavor. Fairly low in alc for a porter. Good, but not spectacular. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 30, 2007 Dark, Dark brown - opaque in a glass. Filmy brown head. Coffee/malt aroma. Very peppy on the palate - not as flat as some porters/stouts. Distinctively bitter but not unpleasantly so. Not to "thick" or rich which I like. A beer to relax with and savor. Clean and refreshing for a porter. Headbanger (1591), Aurora, Illinois, USA
