| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2006 Thanks to Buckybeer for this one. It pours indeed a robust black with a robust 3-finger tan head that stays around for a long time and looks like a chocolate malt. The aroma is very roasty dark patent malty, with some slight rauchiness, some chocoff, and some figgy and vinous fruit hints. The flavor is roasty and dark malty, with an initial sweet chocolatey f;avor that ets a bit drier and roastier as it warms. Medium palate heft, with a good balance and very good complexity. This one goes down smooth and is extremely quaffable. List Tyranena as another Wisconsin brewer (along with New Glarus and a few others) that make me want to move to Wisconsin. Hell, I’d even buy Ed Gein’s old house if I had to! buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

Also a tad of chocolate. Flavor is a little on the light side but is still very good. Flavor is of light smoke malts and coffee. Also some mild bitterness. Pretty good. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2006 Bottle. Pours a very, very dark brown with a nice little tan head. The aroma has hints of soy sauce, good robust coffee, a bit of chocolate. This has a good level of chocolate sweetness and roasty coffee notes. The hops are understandably muddled, but do add a nice bitter edge to the finish. This is well balanced and medium-bodied porter. Good brew for anytime drinking. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2006 Bottle thanks to NachlamSie. Pours deep amber brown with a dissipating beige head. Aroma is chocolate and tree bark. The flavor is moderately bitter and has more of a cold coffee element than I was expecting. There are also notes of caramel, chocolate, and in the finish something like peanut shells. Fizzy mouthfeel. Ok, not great. JJClark (546), Roscoe, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2006 Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with medium body. Makes a nice tan head that dissolves quickly. Aroma of raosted coffee and malt. Taste of chocolate and caramel. Finishes with a slight bitter taste that fades away quickly. This is a good example of a Porter that I will certainly drink again! BuckNaked (1211), Tempe, Arizona, USA

The aroma is lightly fruity with some notes of sweet chocolate, prunes, light molasses. Taste is chocolate, bitter dark malts, and some sweet grain.
