| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Pours a very dark, nearly opaque brown with a nicely-lacing, frothy tan head. Aroma is lightly toasty, dry and sweet, with some roasted coffee bitterness. Body starts with a nice caramely maltiness with some molasses turning more dry and roasty toward the finish. A nicely balanced, very drinkable porter. hezron (602), Viroqua, Wisconsin, USA

Dark black with a thinning tan head and decent lacing. Roasty flavor with chocolate and some dried fruit then finishes with some bitter coffee. Medium body, creamy palate. One of the better from my tasting. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

Satisfyingly sharp roasty flavors to offset the chocolatey sweetness. Lush but not cloying mouthfeel. heemer77 (4303), Savannah, Missouri, USA

The aroma is apples, toast, caramel and a hint of tobacco. The taste is roasted coffee and toffee. There is also a little bit of pear. The mouthfeel is slick and thick. A decent porter.
