Pours a dark brown nearly black with a small tan frothy head. Aroma is very sweet with a strong roasted malt and sharp chocolate presence. Flavor starts out with a very pleasant sweet chocolate toast sort of flavor, like a chocolate cereal. Some nice bitterness appears in the finish and lingers for a while. Medium- full body and med-high carbonation. Good porter, very good balance of sweet and bitter.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown almost black with a thick tan head. Roasty, toasty aromas. Lots of chocolate in the flavor with a biscuty edge to it. Very solid beer. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Pours black with no head. Sweet malt aroma. Medium palate. Flavor is a malt start with a sweet middle and a bitter finish.

Bottle, pint glass. Pours black, nearly opaque, with red highlights where thin. An exuberant release of carbonation leaves a thick tan head, which does eventually dissipate, but with significant lacing. Aroma of grassy hops, with some toasty notes in the background. Initial mouthfeel is surprisingly watery for a beer with this much head, though it does become creamy after a second or two of savoring. Flavor is sharply bitter, with malt, cola, and chocolate undertones. A lot of flavor here, but not all of it is pleasant. Hop heads will rate it higher than I. The bitter notes last longer, finishing like tonic water.

This is a solid porter with lots of roast malt from start to end. A little light in body, but the flavor is packed.

In the words of Borat, very nice. Tobacco and coffee are such a fine combination, and they’re excellent in this porter. A little watery, but no real complaints. Could drink this one all day.

Thanks to akevitt for sharing. Bottle. Pours a black body with red hues and a light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, cocoa, and coffee. Medium-bodied with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Flavors of roasted malts and bitter coffee. Finish is clean with a bitter coffee taste.

5-18-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to buckybeer!
Black brown pour with an initial big beige head that is nice and fluffy but fades quickly. Nice roasted malt and caramel aroma that is present up front but it changes to just sweet malt. Flavor is a hint on the thin/watery side but is sweet and nutty malt. Mouthfeel is a hint thin and has a medium carbonation. Overall, I would like a little more flavor and oomph but it is drinkable and not bad.
