Blackened burgundy; ruby glow at the bottom and a clinging skin of nicotine yellow. Cookie dough, black licorice, fig and some hazelnut in an affable and soft aroma; warm cinnamon and buttery dough. Flavor of cola and milk, oily light nut skins, and sugars; tangy, tart red fruits and a lot of synthetic lactose waxiness. Bitter chocolate, grocery store coffees, and wet anise fill in a mild and limp palate; dirty, drying sarasparilla and wood in the finish. Simple and slightly flaccid; makes no impression.

Bottle. Pours dark brown almost black with a medium sized tan head. Aroma is chocolate, roast, slight coffee. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, toast. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonatin, finishes slightly bitter and roasty. Decent!

12oz bottle courtesy of Monger. Hot chocolate looking body with a thick, bubbly light tan head. Has to be at least 2+ fingers thick and has incredible retention. Some serious lacing going on as well. Nose of heavily sweet milk chocolate, roasted coffee beans and malts, vanilla creamer and some dark fruit hints. Flavor expands upon this, wonderfully creamy chocolate without being cloying or overly sweet. Midway some roasty notes come through along with some other bitterness, but those are really supporting actors in the grand scheme of things here. Medium-full bodied, very creamy and round mouthfeel. Coats every part of the mouth. Finish is sweet milk chocolate, a light backing roasted bitterness and some vanilla bean. Would love to have this available for when my sweet tooth strikes. Awesome.

I really liked this beer. It had a solid bitter bite from the roasted malt which gave it a nice character. Had light hints of coffee and medium chocolate. Would buy again.

Very dark, actually black not a bad beer by any means but nothing really stood out about it to me.

Bottle pours a rich black with a small head and lingering lace all the way through the glass. The aroma is roasty. The flavor is very well rounded, roasted malt, very nice. The palate is fairly rich, with some decent carbonation. Overall, a real nice Porter.

12 oz bottle. Roasty aroma, thick. Flavor is very robust, dominated by hops. Definite bitter chocolate notes, with hints of coffee. Tastes thicker than it feels, if that makes any sense. All in all a great porter.

Dark brown in pour with a very thin light brown head that disappates quickly. Aroma of dark roasted malt and burnt coffee. Very thin body. Flavor of cocoa and coffee with roasted malts. A slight bite at the finish.
