heemer77 (3282), North Liberty, Iowa, USA May 16, 2008 Thanks for the bottle, Mark! Pours a perfect black with a light tan head. The aroma has light coffee and some notes of soybeans. There is also some ashtray. The taste has rich notes of cola, anise and coffee. This has a thick and slick, oily body. There is also a little bit of soybean character. There is only a hint of barrel aging. This is a nice brew, but nothing subtle. Beershine (1010), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 14, 2008 Bottle, Miami Beach throwdown. Cloudy black-brown. Serious chocolate-covered coffee beans. Loads of vanilla and chocolate swirled together, making this a true ice cream beer! Yum. twindadplus2 (331), Wisconsin, USA May 13, 2008 Deep, dark black with a small, light brown head. Aroma is a load of dark roasted coffee with a little bourbon sweetness. Flavors of dark roast coffee, rich dark chocolate, silky smooth oatmeal, Toasted malt and the sweet bite of bourbon lingering throughout. Full bodied and satisfying, there isn’t a finish so much as the flavors just refuse to fade. Outstanding. Headbanger (855), Aurora, Illinois, USA May 12, 2008 12oz bottle-Pours dark brown almost black with a nice two finger tan head. An aroma of coffee, oatmeal and slight bourbon. Taste is of coffee, chocolate, and burnt malt. This full bodied brew is very well balanced. Another great brew from Tyranena. A kick ASS porter. Ibrew2or3 (1463), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA May 12, 2008 Courtesy of Degarth. Pours dark dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma has lots of roasted coffee bean notes and faint burnt malts and not much else. It has lots of coffee in the nose but not overpowering. The taste is coffee and roastiness mixed with tasty burnt malts. I also get some mild rich chocolate malts in the background along with some malt sweetness. Really nice tasting brew.
