Bottle courtesy of Headbanger).Aroma is deeply roasted with an almost seared beef tone in the back. Color is a solid black with a fine carbonation and a very tight little head. Taste is big, rich and roasted. Starting with a full body it goes down smooth with a slight sweet bite. Finish is a big bold roasted flavor that seems a little sweet with coffee and a big vanilla flavor. After taste has the bourbon coming in and just a faint bitterness. This is an amazing brew with huge complex flavors. ucusty (1915), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 22, 2008 This beer is superb. The oatmeal adds a creamy flavor component that complements the vanilla from the barrel aging perfectly. Tastes like a delicious cappuccino with a shot of bourbon in it. Perfectly balanced. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Nose is roasted malts with a good amount of coffee, and just a hint of bourbon sweetness. Nice rounded flavor with more coffee, roasted malts, cocoa, and sweet bourbon. Silky smooth, yet chewy, mouthfeel. Pretty tasty porter. BlackDonald (1127), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 16, 2008 After a long night of drinking and you need a cup of coffee, this is the beer for you. Has that roasted coffee noselike that pot at a diner that been sitting on the hot plate all night long. Kind of like an Irish coffee on the palate, the coffee roastiness mellows into small balanced hints of bourbon, light woody maltiness and a small amount of vanilla and sweet oatmeal. Yummy!
