Ryan always hooks it up with the latest and greatest from WI. And this one is really no exception. Black pour with a nice tan head on it. Smell is chocolate, coffee, sweet, some hops, and alot of bourbon. This is one beer that I think the bourbon enhances the beer. I remember this as being an awesome beer before, and when its in the barrel, it might even be better. I typically do not jack off over barrel beers, but this may be one to crank to. Awesome beer, I wish I had alot more of this. Hey Bitch, can you get me a keg? ChainGangGuy (2597), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 5, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark brown, near black body with a small, off-white head.
Smell: Deep coffee aroma with notes of dark malt, scorched cane sugar, chocolate, and (surprisingly light) bourbon.
Taste: Very robust coffee flavor upfront, a touch of vanilla, a dash of cream. Rather mellow bourbon character. It’s like a great, though cold cup of coffee with a little something extra added. Chocolatey dark malts and some burnt coffee beans prior to the dry finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight creaminess to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: It’s quite good, you should definitely give this one a try. Thanks for your cooperation. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Bottle: Dark brown pour with a nice, fluffy tan head. Strong tones of coffee permeate the room. Light bits of roast and the hints of a thick oatmeal stout. The coffee blends well with the bourbon barrel notes and a bit of smooth chocolate for a very rich and creamy mouthful. Light bittersweetness and some mild roast. Very solid brew indeed. Thanks to Ughsmash for this trade bonus! TomDecapolis (3203), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 4, 2008 Pours a deep black with just a hint of some amber notes and a medium creamy/bubbly tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of fresh coffee beans, vanilla, oak, milk chocolate, nuts, oats, a touch of some smoke and just a hint of bourbon. I could smell this all day long! Flavor of the same coffee, milk chocolate, light vanilla, some oak, a very small touch of bourbon, nuts, mocha and just great. This one really hit the spot for me. Great mix of milk chocolate goodness with just the right amount of coffee and touch of bourbon barrel aging. Nothing overpowering here, just a great balance, Tyranena hit the nail on the head in my opinion! TheEpeeist (1478), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA

A deep touch of bourbon. Creamy body with a carb tang. Taste is grape coffee, dark chocolate and bourbon; more so as it warms. Beans mingle with the bourbon adding some balance. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA

Lighter than expected color doesn’t match the rich flavor. Bourbon barrel flavor is subdued enough to be a note instead of dominate. chindong (10), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA

Dark, dark brown. The aroma is straight coffee with only a bit of the bourbony, oaky smells coming through. Smooth as silk. I really enjoyed this one.
