12oz bottle via trade with FlandersNed. pours a beautiful, slightly oily black with a thin, mocha head a light lacing. aroma is wonderful and hugely complex with big notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and bourbon with lighter elements of vanilla and smoke, and a touch nuts and of dark fruits. flavor is fantastic with massive roast coffee and cream up front with notes of chocolate and vanilla extract backed by dark, roasted malts, a light sweetness, and lovely subtle, oaked bourbon flavors throughout. palate is smooth as silk owing to the oatmeal elements with low carbonation and a lingering coffee finish with a slight touch of bourbon. overall, this is expertly crafted barrel aged brew that truly improves the already excellent Devil Made Me Do It.

12oz pours dark brown though not black with a very small tan head. Aroma is intense coffee beans and chocolate. Coffee is a real standout here. I don’t know when this was brewed but I know it’s not fresh, but this coffee aroma is one of the most intense I’ve ever experienced. Stronger than Founder’s Breakfast. It’s a good coffee smell too, fortunately. Chocolate and vanilla notes also prominent, slight bourbon and oak quality but you gotta look. Flavor is bourbon and chocolate, nice taste though the body is a bit thin for my tastes. Really nice coffee aroma, good subtle bourbon throughout with a nice flavor. If this were a bit heftier in the mouthfeel department it would be significantly better. This is still solid though.

Thanks to Sneagrams03 (Andy)! Aroma is bourbon, chocolate, some char, roast, and traces of sourness. Yum! Initially pours with no head, but some light brown lacing is apparent afterwards. Color is rich, dark brown- no light penetrates. Taste is big, brash, well-carbonated: Alcohol is the first thing to hit me, then a chalky chocolate, roast, and some bourbon and char and sourness on the back end. Smoke, char, bourbon, chocolate. How could I not like this? Well integrated. Very good. More of a coffee-bitte rbackbone is starting to come out of this bad boy as it warms. Makes a full, rich, malty appearance that accents the chocolate, char, and bourbon well. More vanilla coming out, too.

Aroma: Huge bourbon aroma and dark malt aroma.
Appearance: Dark Brown in color, clear with a thin head.
Flavor: Big flavors of oak, bourbon dark malts. This was full of flavor.
Palate: Dry finish, with a Good Barrel Mouthfeel.
Overall: This had awesome flavor. One of the better Aged beers I have ever had.

Pours an extremely dark brown body almost black in color topped by a foamy, tan colored head that leaves minimal lacing behind. The aroma is very nice showing roasted espresso, dark cocoa, cream, and a hint of bourbon. The flavor is just as nice showing more of the roasted espresso, dark chocolate, and some earthy bitter hops. The bourbon is well integrated and shows itself on the finish adding some nice depth. Medium bodied mouthfeel that is very smooth and creamy with some moderate carbonation leading to bourbon espresso finish. This is a really well done porter and a nice subtle use of the bourbon barrels.

Pours translucent very dark brown with a tan ring of foam. Peppery aroma with a bit of chocolate behind it. Light body and carbonation. The taste is also peppery at first, then opens up woody vanilla and chocolate. Lots of wood and some ash and chocolate on the finish.
