| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Dark brown with ruby highlights topped off by a tan crown that slowly recedes. The aroma is dominated by strong coffee with a backbone of bourbon, oatmeal and roasted malt. Taste of coffee, roasted malt, bourbon, alcohol, oatmeal and something sweet, perhaps milk sugar. Super smooth body is a touch sticky and finishes up dry and roasty, warm and toasty. Pretty solid offering – I’m starting to come around on these bourbon aged beers when bourbon is the accentor and not the dominator. hapjydeuce (774), Del Mar, California, USA

Soft carbonation. Aroma is medium strength coffee bean, with a light hint of bourbon sticking out. Oak and whiskey are a bit restrained in the flavor, but noticeable. The dominant character is still held by creamy coffee and roasted malt. A light sweetness prolongs the flavor. Dry, thin finish. Very easy to drink. Yum! Pailhead (2610), Allen Park, Michigan, USA

Bottle : Strong roasted coffee aroma along with caramel, bourbon, and fruit. The aromas seem to clash rather than blend together very well. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small beige head. The flavor starts with chocolate and a fruity backbone. The finish has some watery bourbon flavors and mild roasted coffee. Medium bodied that comes across slightly thin due to minimal carbonation. theisti (1693), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 26, 2009 12 oz bottle graciously given to me by beastiefan2k. Pour is mostly clear black, brown with some ruby notes. Nice one inch tan head. Nice looking beer. Aroma of roasted coffee maltiness, Bourbon, wood and some pine hoppiness, though that is very slight and in the background. The nose is mostly about the coffee and Bourbon. Taste is sharp Bourbon and wood initially, then a blast of fairly flat coffee. Behind that is a nice roasty maltiness, some silky oatmeal, finishing with the pine bitter hops. There is a lot of flavor in this beer, and it makes transitions between flavors well enough. However, the coffee flavor was just a little too stale for me to love it and the Bourbon was a bit to upfront for me. Palate is medium, slick and does not entirely cover the perceived alcohol burn from the Bourbon. This was a well made beer, just not entirely my thing. Thanks for giving me this one Eugene. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Aroma of coffee with underlying bourbon barrel notes of vanilla, and light sweet booze. Smells very nice. Pours dark brown with a nice mousy brown head that settles into some islands. Flavors of roast, coffee, dark malts, light bourbon, vanilla, earthy notes. Dry coffee/oak/earthy finish. Lots of lingering roasted coffee beans. Very dry mouth feel. Really freaking good. ericandersnavy (1141), crossroads, Texas, USA
