Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, nuts, rye, light whiskey, vanilla, oaky and a little earthy with some coffee notes. Flavor was pretty much a match of the aroma all the same goodness going on. These barrel aged Porters in the Brewers Gone Wild! series are top notch. IPAaLLtHEwAY (136), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 3, 2008 12 oz. bottle - thanks to after4ever for breaking this out and popping my tyranena cherry; jet black with thin tan head; thin body, but a nice creamy and flat texture; whiskey is there, but on the smooth, mild side; other aromas of chocolate and roasty rye; drinks with a slightly bitter finish and the rye gives off a little spice kick to it; palate got bombed out this night, but this one remains memorable; thanks tom illinismitty (1797), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Updated: Jul 25, 2008Bottle at Noogfest 08. Pours brown/black with wisp of a brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, charred malt, and oats. Full bodied with a slick mouthfeel. Flavor of chocolate, coffee, and slight vanilla. Mid palate gets fairly aggressive with the hop bitterness and the bittersweet accents of the rye. Very subtle wood notes on the finish. This was not bad, but I think some of the characteristics lacked some harmony and was not up to par with Tyranenas other offerings. jsquire (2107), St. Marys, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 31, 2008 Dark beer with a one finger creamy beige head that left sheets of sticky lace. Nose of whiskey, oak, chocolate and lightly toasted grain. This is a very smooth, thick beer, with the mouthfeel of a melted Wendy’s Frosty. Tons of chocolate, coffee, oak, vanilla, whiskey, and molassess. This is how to use a barrel to enhance the beer that you put in it. Many thanks to whomever sent me this bottle.
