I liked this Hefe, although we were drinking it in the dead of a Northeastern Wisconsin winter. Nice aroma of bananas and spice, followed by a similar flavor, brought back memories of warmer temps -- hell, even double digits would be nice right now!

Poured a dark yellow color good head not much lacing. Aroma was lots of bananas. Flavor was overwelmed by bananas not much else in there not the best within syle by any means.

Bottle from Bockyhorsey, poured a tawny tan color, not really amber, no red-orange looking hues, good initial head, miserable retention and lacing. The aroma was bananas, like banana baby food. The flavor was all bananas, no spicing or phenolic character, all bananas. Mouthfeel was light for the style, moderate to light carbonation, not an impressive exmaple of the style. Thanks for the brew, Bill and Wendy!

Pours a murky straw color with a bleached white head. The head reduces to a rocky covering and leaves wet lace behind. Aromas of wet banana bread sprinkled with a faint amount of clove. Flavors of banana, clove, citrus, and bready yeastiness. Little estery feel. Smooth and supple on the palate. A thirst quencher.

Bottle: Pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma, wheat, some spice, yeast. Flavor, some wheat, some spices, pretty unremarkable, but it’s refreshing.

This beer was unremarkable, but it was a very nice cold, clovey, and lemon-y break from a hot summer day. Appearance was a slightly dirty yellow with a soft drink (think Sprite) like head. Aroma was clovey with some faint mintiness in the background. Mouthfeel, which was overcarbonated like tonic water, hit me more before the flavor of the beer. Flavor was mild, a bit subtle, and not if a tad bit boring. There was some clove with some tonic water backing. Gratefully, the mintiness I detected in the aroma was not present in the taste. This beer was very drinkable. While a bit boring, it was perfect for the today’s weather!

Shared by and sampled 12-oz bottle with Ughsmash, pours a clear golden amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind a fine film and creamy ring. Aroma of wheat and yeasty malt, bubblegum, some banana esters and a touch of pepper spice. Taste is smooth, medium bodied, lightly carbonated with yeast, cloves, and banana flavors. Finish is still carbonated, slightly tart with a banana/clove aftertaste.

Bottled on May 18, 2007. Poured an almost clear apple juice yellow with just a dusting and a light ring of white head. The aroma picked up a very nice blend of peppery spices and lightly toasted banana.. warm and inviting. Flavor picked up the toasted banana again with pepper and cloves rounding it out. Very tasty all-around. Light-medium bodied with great balance. Enjoyed it!
