Flavor was a moderate banana with a moderate zesty flavor also. Light sweet fruity flavor left on palate. Decent brew. FlacoAlto (2473), Tucson, Arizona, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 11, 2006 Pours quite hazily into my tulip glass. The beer is light in color and is an orangish straw color. It is topped by a half-finger thick, pale, off-white colored head that quickly disappears. As I pour this beer I get typical Hefeweizen notes of banana, clove and even a bit of tart lemon-like notes. Sweet grainy notes of wheat join in on the original aromatic notes that I noticed and it seems that the clove character is perhaps the most distinctive, though tart wheat notes certainly vie for that title.
Perhaps not as carbonated as is traditional, or even as I would prefer, it does have a light carbonation, which only adds a hint of liveliness to this brew; the carbonation would be quite appropriate for say a pale ale. The beer tastes of lightly sweet grain, and in fact much of this perception of sweetness comes from the traditional Hefeweizen note of clove. The beer finishes with a light bitterness and a light tartness, both of which add a much needed zip and balance to this beer. Light and quaffable, which is certainly what I expect, it does hit the spot on this 90°F November day. Before I know it my 12oz glass is gone, definitely a nice way to kick off the afternoon. Now I have to go build a mash tun. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA

Nose is nice with notes of wheat, bananna, lemon, and vanilla. Taste is the same and a bit tart and spicey. A smooth tart though. Well carbonated..Very refreshing. Excellant wheat beer. chimpscampee (566), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 17/20 | Oct 12, 2006 Some good calls by previous reviewers-- honeysuckle, marigold, banana, lemon, peppery clove. I do not get bubblegum. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised-- this is a great brewer. A bit watery and short on mouthfeel but I rate this high still based on taste. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2006 From the tap, served in a weizen glass.
Poured a cloudy golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a fine lacing.
Aromas of clove and spices, banana and a tart orange and a sweet wheat bready.
Good, even moderate carbonation and a malty crisp, chewy and creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
Delicious hefe weizen taste, clove spiciness and bananas, a tart orange fruitiness, sweet wheat bready maltiness, a good malty crispiness, the hops are pretty neutral, and sweet bready finish with a little orange fruitiness lingering in the palate.
One of the better hefe weizens I’ve had from the tap, highly quaffable, tasty enough to drink all night, for me personally, one of Tyranena better brews.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 25, 2006 Courtesy of MIBRomeo. Low concentration aroma of typical Hefe smells...yeast bannana, clove and some perfumey notes with hints of citrus. Body is a cloudy yellow and the head never really gets formed before it fades completely away. Yeasty fore, spice notes some slgihtly tart acidity, cloves and mild creamy bannana notes. Sorta tastes like a Hefe/Wit hybrid. The lack of a head and light body really detracts from the enjoyment of this style. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 17, 2006 Bottle. Pours a yellowish haze with a nice white head on top. Aroma is clove, banana, wheat, and lemon. Flavor is clove, banana, and lemon. A decent summer beer but nothing special at the same time. kmweaver (2471), Sebastopol, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 21, 2006 12 oz. bottle, courtesy of Monger. Cloudy grapefruit appearance, remarkably small head for a German-style Hefe. Cloves most present in a medium aroma, a bit of coriander. Tasted much closer to a wit beer than a full-blown hefeweizen. Bananas come out most fully in the finish. Light on the carbonation. Sessionable.
