On tap at Tyranena, June 2006.
Hazy, muted pale yellow in color with a creamy white overlay and traditional white lacing. Bananas leap out of the glass with cloves, vanilla and sweet, sugary lemon chews. This aroma is everything a hefe should attempt to emulate. Creaminess onsets with a palatable summer quenching technique. Vanilla and cloves come to the forefront with a gentle peppered, sucked-on lemonhead mobility. That buttery vanilla crème is such a thorough, encompassing flavor trait. Effervescence is where we want it, and a citric lemon gloss shine falls supplely over the tongue’s sides. A pillowy banana feature is complimented by a subtle marigold flavor from the hop delicacy. Clover comes out more with citric intuitions in the end, but the vanilla lemon crème sees us out. A fantastic hefeweizen that bridges the distance and shatters the barriers between the U.S. and Bavaria.

From the tap, served in a weizen glass. Poured a cloudy golden hued orange with a foamy white head that settled into a fine lacing. Aromas of clove and spices, banana and a tart orange and a sweet wheat bready. Good, even moderate carbonation and a malty crisp, chewy and creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel. Delicious hefe weizen taste, clove spiciness and bananas, a tart orange fruitiness, sweet wheat bready maltiness, a good malty crispiness, the hops are pretty neutral, and sweet bready finish with a little orange fruitiness lingering in the palate. One of the better hefe weizens I’ve had from the tap, highly quaffable, tasty enough to drink all night, for me personally, one of Tyranena better brews.

Simple honey yellow. Very slim cap of white foam doesn’t last long. Very minimal lace. Aroma is nice and wheaty sweet with a shade of banana mustyness and a tad of clove to it. The wheaty sweet breadyness is wholesomely good. Taste sticks that wheaty sweetness from the smell right in its place on tha palate. Firm, rounded, semi crisp and tangy wheaty breadyness is super smooth and soft with a slight banana flavoring and pear hints the back as it glides right along with a nice length to its taste. Very slight hint to clove and grass tint the finishing areas. Feel is wheaty smooth with a nice rounded crispness to the semi tangy breadyness. Favorable finish with an easy, lofty malt glide with touches of grassy spices. A decent enough hefe, I think this being a somewhat older, shelf sat sixer; as fresh, this is probably even better. The wheat tones are nice in this one.

very light golden amber color w/ a tiny off white head that disapated quickly.. the beer appeared highly carobnated as bubles clung to the glass and continued to rise throughout after the pour. The palate was smooth and crisp w/ a good amount of carbonation.. The taste was good as I like the hefeweizen flavor.. it carried a taste that hinted of lemony bannanas.. this would be a great sipping beer in the heat.

Tap at Tyranena. Pours to a hazy straw colored body with a very cream white head and nice lacing. The flavor is very strong bananas, caramle, banana’s foster, wheat. Quite good for the style. The aroma is strong raw wheat, ripe banana bread. The palate is chewy, medium bodied, crisp. A VERY good hefe.

Sweet banana and bubblegum aroma, followed by the wheat grain, very small head, somewhat odd for a hefeW, tart banana and bubblegum taste, light clove in background, also a little wheat can be detected. I liked the sweetness involved, also the ester emphasis, but just a touch more malt body would be better
