Commercial Description:
The Headless Man is brewed in the "old way" of a Düsseldorf-style Altbier. A unique cold lagering process gives this amber ale its smooth taste.

Pours a nice orangish amber. Nice Nice soft roasted malt and floral hops and toffee. Balanced smoky, toffee, nutty floral hops. Great dry floral hops finish. Very nice alt beer.

This altbier pours a slightly murky medium amber color from a 12oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel and toffee and slightly sweet, but with a touch of smokiness. A medium bodied alt. The malts are caramel and toffee. The hops are floral and earthy. There is a smokiness and grassiness to this beer. The malts seem a little bit burnt. Good balance. Lively carbonation. Nice session ale. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and slightly dry. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Draft at the Great Taste of the Midwest. Quite sessionable. Nice amount of German hops with some malt on the palate. A very crisp beer. Finishes bright and dry.

Bottle. Hazy orange color with a small head. Tasted caramel, toffee and a bit of grassy/piny hops. Reminds me of an amber. Light to medium body. Grassy, bitter finish.

A very nice session ale. I made the mistake of trying it on a hot and humid day, and it just didn’t seem to fit. I tried it again on a cooler day and it fit in just fine. Not necessarily my "type" of beer, but a pretty good representation of an altbier.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a slightly hazy deep amber color with a 3/4 finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Has a toasted malt aroma. Flavor is also toasted malt with a good bit of bitterness. Light to medium body. Not quite as good as Alaskan Amber, but still a nice Alt. Thanks Bill and Wendy.
