Commercial Description:
The Headless Man is brewed in the "old way" of a Düsseldorf-style Altbier. A unique cold lagering process gives this amber ale its smooth taste.

Dry, dusty aroma, with a bit of fruitiness. Mostly caramelly in profile. A bit flat, weak palate; not particularly enjoyable to me.

Copper color. Smell of roasted malt, caramel and toast. Taste of malt, bread, minor hops, vegetable oil and a touch of rye and wheat.

Aroma is light, roasty malt. Just a little sweet, but also dry, with light herbal qualities. Light overall, but solid. Nice palate. Light brown color.

Pale orange pour minimal head. Malty nose with a grainy tasting body and minimal malt sweetness.

Picked up a bottle at The Coffee Grounds in Eau Claire, WI (thanks goes to Brewfiend for sharing) Pours a clear amber color with a thin, off white, fast dissolving head. Aroma has some earthiness, dry malt, toasted wheat crackers, pitted fruit, and some caramel. Taste is a little watery and then a gritty/dry aftertaste. This brew is more close to an Oktoberfest/Marzen style beer than an Alt.

Good solid beer. Had this bottle at Bodega Brew Pub downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin USA. Poured with a very nice head and lots of lace. Nice dark amber/red color. Light malty aroma. Very well balanced flavor with a bit of dryness make this a great session beer.

Bottled. Poured an ever-so-slightly hazy medium orange with a dusting of white and scattered lacing. The aroma picked up an odd, veggie-laded caramel aire.. toasted with some floral hoppage. Flavor had a toasty caramel and nougat base, not entirely distancing itself from vegetal notes... mild herbal and citrus bitterness surround the tongue. Lighter-bodied and rather unmemorable on the palate.. somewhat tacky finish. Not so impressed.

Good looking pour, a clear copper body with a respectable white head. The aroma is sweet with roasted grains, a touch of caramel, burnt toast, and a hint of berries. Nice lively mouthfeel. The caramel steps forward in the flavor supported by toast and a light floral and cirus bitterness. A real quaffable beer.
