Commercial Description:
The Headless Man is brewed in the "old way" of a Düsseldorf-style Altbier. A unique cold lagering process gives this amber ale its smooth taste.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with large slow moving bubbles. Aroma of yeast, wheat, and sweet malt. Light mouthfeel and you can taste mild spices, toasted malt, and dough. Nice lasting bitterness. Altbier is not a common style for me to consume, but I enjoyed it.

12oz bottle via trade with monger! - Thanks James! - Pours dark amber with a short offwhite creamy head that fades back to a ring pretty quick and leaves scant lacing. Aromas of caramel and toasted malt, a little toffee, and some bready notes. Flavor is caramel, toasted malts, toffee, and some herbal qualities. Medium body with lively carbonation makes this one feel pretty good in the mouth. Not bad..

Deep copper, thin white head. Nose is caramel and toasty. Flavor quite malty, chewy caramel, quite sweet, bit sticky. Some good noble hop bite to it along with a bit of citrus, nice mix of hops. Good maltiness, nice mouthfeel.

Sampled at Dutch 70’s "Tasting in the Woods; Part Deux". Clear copper with a small white head. Grassy noble hop nose. Flavor of light caramel, herbal/grassy hops and a little bread. Moderately sweet, no shortage of bittering hops. Light bodied, fizzy and somewhat watery.

TITW Part Deux - 12oz bottle courtesy of Monger. Thanks, James! Light reddish-orange appearance; slight off-white head. Light nose, some sweet malts. Light mouthfeel, slightly dry, floral hoppiness. Quick finish: mineral and citrus. Very drinkable.

Light amber with a small white head. The aroma is heavy vienna, caramel, bread and herbal. The flavor is floral, herbal with a touch of caramel. Light body, dry with a bitter end. Good stuff.

Nice amber color. Undistinctive aroma. Slightly malty yeasty taste. Very smooth and thirst quenching. Not as rich in taste as the appearance might lead one to believe. An OK Brew.

No hops. Creamy and watery at the same time which is unusual. Sweet. Above average carbonation. Bland.
