| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 6, 2008 pours a dark copper with a one finger bubbly light tan head. aroma is caramel malt and a touch of hops. has a light to medium body with ok lacing and great carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but more on the toasted side for the malt. there is also a little more pine hops and is stronger than the aroma. has a nice dry hop aftertaste and as it warms the aroma and flavor get a little maple syrup to it. not bad. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 28, 2008 Bottle and served in standard pint glass: Pours the expected amber hue with a fading small frothy head and left spotty lace upon the glassware. The aroma has notes of caramel and toasted malts, buttered biscuit, herbal hops, crabapple and star fruit esters, and a hint of mineral water. The taste is mild sweet grains with some fruit and herbal bitterness in support. A touch nutty as well. The mouth feel is lively and refreshing with a well attenuated dry finish. Not too shabby at all, a quick drinker. Syd (901), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2008 Bottle pours a crystal clear ruby color with no head, but a nice surface haze. The aroma is caramel malt and floral . The flavor is honey, caramel, malt three ways, and some faint hops. There is a lingering cereal note that does not detract from the overall. Actually this is pretty decent. The palate is like a mix of medium bodied and water - kind of different. I still get a lingering cereal note. Overall, not my favorite, but not offensive. valpoaj (362), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Copper color pour with a very thin head. Aroma is strong on caramel malts with a fairly heavy dose of honey...sweet and pleasant. Flavor is dominated by malts, but some hops hit up front to give it some balance. Honey accents play a big role in the flavor and almost dominates at times. Finish is a bit watery, with some lasting bitterness, though it is not hard-hitting or offensive. Decent altbier, but nothing amazing. Headbanger (1588), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Taste of the same with some toffee and more hops coming through. Not a fan of alts but a nice tasting one. ubamartian (155), Watertown, Wisconsin, USA
