Aroma is malts and hops with caramel and a bit o’ honey. Taste is malts and some sweet from the caramel. Finishes with a wet hop that stays in the palate. Heavier body but more towards a medium feel. Good brew. DrnkMcDermott (1865), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2008 12 oz. bottle. A bit light as color goes for alts or amber, but a nice rocky head on top, delivering an assertive malt and bitter smell. Taste is of a darker amber with the bit of smoke I come to associate with alts. Sharp noble hops hover at the back of my mouth. Quite tasty. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Aroma is honey, caramel, and earthy grains. Red color with a thin creamy head. The beer sort of coats your throat and is slightly sticky, but in a good way. Easy drinking and pretty good flavor for a lager beer. I’m not super familiar with the Altbier style, but I like this beer. kreepindeth (405), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

Tyranena’s Headless Man Amber Alt pours dirty copper with faint orange highlights. A two finger white head formed on the pour that fell to a cap with a thick collar. Leaves a respectable lacing after every few sips.
Aroma is nicely balanced with a somewhat damp fruitiness and a pleasing caramel, toasted maltiness. Fairly simple but with a rich maltiness on the backend.
Taste is right in line with the aroma. Caramel and lightly toasted malts create a backbone that the fruitiness plays along with nicely. Leafy hoppiness on the swallow. Again, straightforward and simple but definately enjoyable.
Medium bodied with a nice smooth rather quick moving mouthfeel. Carbonation is higher than the look would lead you to believe. Slightly gritty on the swallow.
Easy drinking superbly balanced brew from Tyranena. I could sit down and drink a few of these without a problem.
Solid Alt from Tyranena. Probably my least favorite from them I’ve tried so far but a solid example none-the-less. The only reason this is my least favorite is because every other beer from Tyranena I’ve sampled has been from really good to spectacular.
