Commercial Description:
The Headless Man is brewed in the "old way" of a Düsseldorf-style Altbier. A unique cold lagering process gives this amber ale its smooth taste.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber with an average light tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma of white bread, grain, malt, and hops. Tastes of bready grain, slightly sweet, and finishes with just a touch of dryness. Overall, a decent beer.

Poured to a fluted fest glass at Brixie’s Holiday Beer Tasting in Brookfield, IL. The color was a clear amber with a nice, white, foamy head and spotty lacing. The aroma was slight German/Pils malt and noble hop, with some graininess, and light candy type sweetness. The flavor still possessed a little grain, but highlighted smooth malt with some light hop bitterness. Nice and sessionable.

Bottle from Archer Liquor. Pours amber with a small, fluffy beige head. Aroma of lightly roasted caramel. Less than medium body with decent carbonation. Flavor is mildly roast malt with something like noble hop. Seems to finish with a hint of something like chocolate. Fairly subtle flavors. Finishes a bit astringent and lightly bitter.

Pours deep amber. Aroma is a little weak for the genre. Flavor is mostly of malt and hops and a hint of floral -- a little unbalanced toward the malt side. Finish is lightly bitter. Enjoyable drink, but not the best available from Tyranena.
