The beer pours a chestnut brown. Held in the light, some purple hues shine though. The head is beige. The barrel and brandy are very evident in the nose. Along with that, I get a bit of a smoked nuttiness, and grape skins. The flavor is pretty rockin’ as well. Lots of roasted nuts, a touch of chocolate, finishes with a spot of oak, smooth brandy, and tad of alcohol. Medium bodied, with a dry finish. Overall, this is a really well made beer that I’d love to have everyday. joe1510 (501), Illinois, USA

Tyranena has been coming up with some really interesting enjoyable brews lately. High-Class Broad is no exception. Pours a clear garnet That looks black if there’s no light directly in the background. A 1+ finger ecru head formed on the pour that fell to a skim coat and thick ring around the glass. Leaves sticky drink lines after each sip.
Toasted malts with a solid dosing of hazelnut kick off the aroma. Rich vanilla wafts in and out along with the brandy. Figs and a touch of molasses accent things perfectly. This is High-Class.
Flavor is hand in hand with the aroma but with some added layers. Toasted bready malts and that very welcomed dosing of hazelnut start things off and are present throughout. Cream and a mild roasty bitterness come through mid-palate. All of a sudden that wonderful brandy barrel aging comes throuhg. Hints of oak, vanilla, and of course that semi-sweet brandy dance around, one always flashing quickly stronger than the others.
Body is on the heavier side of medium and extremely creamy. Velvety smooth with mild carbonation lets this beer slide along the tongue incredibly smooth.
This is an easy beer to put away but I can see the barrel aging becoming overbearing after awhile. Which is common in barrel aged beers no matter how good they taste.
Another excellent beer from Tyranena. If I could pick any brewery to get my hands on all releases, right now at this point and time, it would be Tyranena. They’re beers are unbelievably unique and delicious. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful aroma coming off this baby and an equally good taste. Rich brown look with a thin head (and slightly too-thin body), this baby is all about the full flavor. Oak and very nicely integrated brandy flavors are superb, even if there’s a slight hint of an alcohol bite (wonder what the ABV on this is, by the way). But man, it’s like a coke float. Awesome. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2007 A paltry head struggles to form atop a cola brown beer. No lacing. Malty aromas with a fair amount of wine-like grape notes. Caramel sauce. Flavors coat the entire palate with sticky caramel squares, baking chocolate, and some dark fruit. The brandy barrels are evident, and even more so as it warms. The cola appearance is complimented by a cola nut flair in the aftertaste. Warming ABV. Quite sweet. An interesting brew. I hope my 2nd bottle can last until this coming winter. This would be killer on a cold, cold night...
