| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Small tan head, retention is fair witha little stringy lace hanging on for dear life. Lightly hazy, brown brew with some orange edging. Nose is lightly sweet malts, caramelly, faint chocolate, some wood and of course the whisky or uhhh brandy in this case. Body is full, carbonation is fairly low making for a soft palate which works well with the malty brandy flavors. Brandy notes up front not overpowering but mostly dominant, medium sweet malts, some caramel, chocolate and vanilla hints. Dark fruityness and a certain tangyness too. Finish is fairly dry, gently boozy, earthy and fruity. Another well done BA brew from Tyranena. I really enjoyed the BA Porter too. Many thanks once again to footbalm for this lovely speciman. Thanks Eric!! TheEpeeist (1492), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 15/20 | Jul 18, 2007 12 oz bottle. Clear brown with an oatmealy head. Molasses, rum balls and gingerbread promise a similar taste. Well, i don’t like Browns so much and after a few sips this is starting to lean on me. Almost syrupy with the sour tang and burnt sugar Brown notes i don’t care for. Plum and raisin help to balance. Warming finish of oak and brandy keeps me interested. boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Light beige head, quickly diminishing but easily roused right back up with a gentle swirl. the body is a murky tri-colored blend of dark amber/light brown/subtle copper, translucent and oily. Light speckled lacing. Highly alcoholic aroma, with bold notes of unmistakable brandy and wood. Caramel candies follow, along with notes of toasty grains, brown sugar, heavy molasses, apple skins, banana, campfire smoke. The flavor is utterly dominated by brandy and caramel, with lesser notes of woodiness and fruits. Light bitterness, high viscosity and sweetness, low to no acidity. Earthy at times, sweet throughout. Finishes wet, sweet and buttery. The mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, softly carbonated and sticky. Decent. I had hoped for something invigorating; alas, I’ll have to wait. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 9, 2007 Courtesy boboski. Pours a fairly clear light brown with amber hues. Small off white head dissipates quikly. Smells of some dark sweet fruits, caramel, oak, syrup, and brandy as well. Gets a little alohol too. The taste is rather and smooth and goes down easy. It has a noticeable sweetness to it, apples maybe. Alot of caramel and molasses as well, seems to be the backbone. A little bit roasty and very malty. I get a little bit of heat coming off of it the finish, which turns to sweetness, and then caramel. Full-bodied on the palate with a rich aftertaste. Pretty good. weeare138 (936), Collegeville, Pennsylvania, USA

Smell is of vanilla, caramel, cream, brown sugar, and brandy.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with caramel, vanilla, and toffee leading the way.
Mouthfeel is creamy, yeasty, and sugary. jason (1627), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA
