Pours out a dark brown with light brown fluffy head. Smell is of oak and brandy. Taste is nice with a great oak and brandy combo that are interesting to note on a brown ale, a slight chewiness to it that was actually quite nice johnadam2002 (529), Hainesport, New Jersey, USA

Pours a camel brown with notes of sherry and dried fruit on the nose. Leads into cherry and brown sugar, almost reminding me a bit of Barley John’s Rosie’s. Finishes with a pleasant toastiness from the brandy barrels, which I found to be just the right touch of oak, brandy, and beer. Well crafted, just not as extreme as others. howie (549), DeForest, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 11, 2007 Nice looking, striking bourbon-vanilla aromas. Fruity and sweet. Creeping into barleywine-land. Alcohol burn. Too much bourbon for me. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Bottle from Ryan. Thanks. Pours out a dark brown color with an off white head on it. Smell is full of sweet brandy notes and a touch of smoke. Fruity notes here too, dark fruits, mostly, but alot of brandy over all. Taste is sweet and sticky, no alcohol detected, very good stuff. Brandy barrel beers are way better than bourbon ones. Good stuff, wish I had more. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA
