The body is a brooding, cloudy, dark brown hue with cascading sheets of micro-bubble carbonation. A small, fizzy, off-white head settles to a thin film with a prominent rim. The aroma is rich, complex, and inviting. Caramel, nougat, brown sugar and root beer comprise the malty base, while oak, vanilla, brandy, and cherries emerge to complete the nose. The flavor is very similar, with various rich, complex malts revealing themselves as they roll over the tongue. Heat from the brandy lingers, as do moderately spicy hops. Similar to a smooth, medium-full bodied barleywine. Refreshing and easy to drink despite what is obviously a high ABV. Really nice, despite the alcohol heat.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with blankboy and GregClow, my bottle via trade with Ughsmash. Cloudy mahogany with a decent rocky/creamy beige head. Lovely smell - aged oak and sweet boozy brandy up front, chocolate and nut roast malt behind - somewhat dry, but lushly sweet. Taste - the same, wonderfully blended and balanced - I’m sure it’s high ABV, but I’m just going to enjoy this one. Creamy, soft, thick - not a long long finish, but it stays on the tongue a while. Lovely - thanks, Jason!

Thanks to Suttree for sharing this one. Clear dark brown with a creamy tan head. Perfumy bourbon aroma. Creamy smooth malt palate with nicely subdued bourbon notes.

Bottle, courtesy after4ever. Pours clear brown with ruby highlights and a lacy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar molasses. Medium body. Taste plays to my sweet tooth, with a slice of bread to put all the sugar on.

12-oz. Thanks, Pantanap! Murky, grainy mahogany with a thin but dense moussy tan head. Not much lace. Sweet caramel, brown bread, and brown sugar nose. Medium body, moderately tingly carb. There’s that bread and sugar again on the mid-palate. Joined by some nut and cola notes. Long, sticky, sugary-sweet finish. This is a real sugar bomb.

Vanilla, oak, molasses, caramel malts. bourbon barrel aging are most apparent. Bit smoky. May be first Impy Brown I’ve had. More sweet and malty than I prefer but a nice high end offering. As unique as their regular bourbon barrel aged brown, which is saying alot.
