Great sweet malt and ripe dark fruits on the nose. Very strong alcohol presence on the palate, but well balanced with a good dose of sweet roasted malt. Very nice and unique from many other barrel aged beers. BückDich (4851), McCall, Idaho, USA

Nose of brandy, sweet malt and chewy plum, apricot and honey. The flavor is sweet and caramelly but balanced, plenty of alcohol and nice balanced full body, very barrel-aged tasting. Loads of sweet caramel malt and wood on the nose. A hint of alcohol. Quite rich. Pours deep amber. The beer just looks chewy. Flavor is initially dominated by loads of roasted chocolate malt. A butterscotch sweetness develops. A hint of mint and spice. Excellent balance of sweet caramel and dry oak. Rich and chewy on the palate. Nice! Headbanger (1591), Aurora, Illinois, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Bottle. [Courtesy of the famous trio Boboski / Papsoe / Ungstrup, yet another great tasting @ Henrik´s] Average beige creamy head that mostly diminished. Light cloudy brown color. Spare lacework. Aroma of bread, caramel, brandy, wood, fruit. Very complex aroma I must say. Full bodied with an average carbonation. Heavy sweet flavor, balanced with light bitter and alcoholic sharp feel. Lingering bread and brandy sweet finish. Very nice indeed. 18-09-2007 SoLan (1426), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 21, 2007 Dark amber/brown. Small, fluffy, tan cap. Aroma of roast, oak, dark fruit, subtle smoke, nougat, brandy, alcohol, subtle spice (cinnamon/nutmeg). Very nice nose. Flavor lacks comparable complexity- basic sweet brown ale with some molasses, a little oak, and a little alcohol. Full/medium body, smooth. Great idea, but a big let down after the aroma. yespr (12311), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2007 12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with very little lacing head. Heavy brandy aroma with roasted malt note. Brandy chemical alcohol flavour with a persisting roasted malt flavour. End is burned and slight chemical. Not my style, well crafted though.
