sweet chocolate covered caramel candy aroma, caramel flavor is drying out, still a lot of brandy character, picking up a woody character with a light tartness, sweetness is all but gone, past its prime

sweetness is back and life is good, last bottle must have been the exception

12 oz bottle from iowaherkeye. Muchas gracias. Poured a clear brown-orange color. Head was thick and light tan with good retention. Pleasant aroma of vanilla, milk chocolate, oak, and whiffs of booze. Sweet on the tongue. Taste followed aroma. Yum. Almost like a milk shake with distinct vanilla, milk chocolate, and brandy flavors. There was also an ever present hint of cereal grain. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised by this one after being underwhelmed by some of the others in the Brewers Gone Wild series.

Sweet caramelized malt and dried fruit aroma. Deep amber color, somewhat dense, foamy tan head of minimial duration. Rich dried fruit and cherry brandy sweetness. Strong flavor, well balanced between sweet and bitter, rich, lightly alcoholic. Light oaken woodiness. Creamy on the palate and well carbonated. Even duration with an alcoholic warmth. Good rich flavors.

Bottle from my Secret Santa (thanks!). Poured a very dark brown with a light ring of off-white head. I poured it cold initially, and the difference between fresh out the fridge and warmed for 20 minutes was pretty astounding. While cold, there wasn’t much aroma, maybe some muted brandy, and the taste was somewhat chocolatey and nutty, like a brown ale. But when it warmed up...my goodness. Aroma full of oak, vanilla, and brandy. The taste was much maltier, with some brandy and fruitiness to it now, as well as the oak touches. The finish was had some roastiness to it, along with brandy and booze. Mouthfeel was smooth and not terribly carbonated. Another hit for the Brewers Gone Wild.

Bottle shared by Suttree with myself, SpringsLicker, and decaturstevo. Pours dark amber brown with beige head. The aroma is blackberry, coffee, caramel, slight lacticity, brandy and cedar. Flavor has a slight acidic twang to it, probably from the brandy. Then there are deep wood and caramel flavors with plenty of roasty notes. The finish is nutty and slightly roasty. Pretty good stuff.

Trade from buckybeer - Thanks! Brown, as one might expect. Coffe and chocolate aroma, mixed a touch of brandy and oak. Smooth and buttery (not in a dyacetal way) , with lots of toffee, some hints of whiskey and more notes of chocolate in the finish. Very enjoyable.

(Bottle) Trade from Ughsmash. Fluffy white head with a mahogany body. Nose of strong toffee malt. Flavour has cherry, vanilla, toasted malt, shea butter and moss. Excellent. I love this stuff!

12 ounce bottle from Ughsmash
The beer pours a chestnut brown. Held in the light, some purple hues shine though. The head is beige. The barrel and brandy are very evident in the nose. Along with that, I get a bit of a smoked nuttiness, and grape skins. The flavor is pretty rockin’ as well. Lots of roasted nuts, a touch of chocolate, finishes with a spot of oak, smooth brandy, and tad of alcohol. Medium bodied, with a dry finish. Overall, this is a really well made beer that I’d love to have everyday.
