Nice thick ruby red with cream ivory thick head. Smell is super fun hops and has nice sweet floral notes. Flavor is great - hoppy and bitter while well balanced sweetness is there too. Better aftertaste that stays on the tongue. Mouthfeel is very nice - smooth and creamy. hophead75 (1962), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2008 bottle from Stine, thanks! This is one I have wanted to try for awhile now. Lightly hazy amber in color with a medium creamy tan head that retains very well as leaves some nice sticky lacing on the side of my unibroue tulip glass. Aroma is nice and piney with some moderate citrus and caramel malts. Taste has a very clean profile- with alot of pine and fresh grapefruit hop character. The body of this beer is nice and full with alot of caramel and toasted malt flavors. The bitterness is initially moderate then gets fairly intense in the finish and lingers well. A straight up well made IIPA. esjaygee (1578), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Dark unfiltered orange with off white slowly diminishing head that laces well. Heavy citrus aroma with notes of sweet malt and fruit. Heavy citric hop taste but nicely balanced out by caramel malts. Finishes pretty nice with a sweetness that mixes well with the bitterness of the hops. Definitely my favorite Tyranena so far. waolsen (1223), Littleton, Colorado, USA

I was looking at this beer on the page the other day and was really wanting to get my hands on some. I didn’t realize that I had one in the fridge. Thanks Bri! copper hazy pour with thin soapy head. oily hops, fruity perfume and sweet sugar aroma. rich and thick. almost syruppy in texture. well balanced and delicious. not too over the top like I was expecting. It was remarkably drinkable. malts are rich and sweet. caramel. you think you can chew the hops. The hops are steady throughout and bitterness dances on your tongue in the finish. spectacular. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 1, 2008 Strong tastes of grapefruit, lemon, and gum. Strongly bitter. Body and carbonation are a solid medium. A well-rounded Imp. IPA, but I’m not sure that’s the desired effect for the style. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

Pours a dark, slightly hazy orange color with a thin, somewhat sticky off-white head. Smells hoppy astringent with some alcohol. Flowery hops in there as well, spicy and earthy. Tastes about the same way, resiny and flowery. Caramelly earthy hoppy and citrusy on the finish. Medium, syrupy body with crisp carbonation. islay (478), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Mar 25, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Hops, not surprisingly, dominate the sharp but only moderately strong aroma, which is characterized by a citrus sourness. Lemon, lime, bubblegum, pine, and corn muffin scents. There is also a light, malty smell. Pours copper to medium brown. Large amount of large, suspended particles in the liquid. Small amount of beige head. At first, the taste is metallic and not pleasant. It seems as though the hops have lost some of their oomph. Upon multiple sips, the hops begin to assert themselves. By the end, the grapefruit-dry-sourness is amazing. The first sips deserved a 4, but the flavor has risen to a strong 9 by the time the glass is empty. Emptying the glass does not take long, as Hop Whore is remarkably easy to drink. It is oily and lively in the palate and has a strong hops bite or sting to the tongue and throat. The body is moderate to heavy. Long, citrus-dry aftertaste. Hop Whore is an odd but eminently enjoyable brew.
