Oct 26, 2009 Bottle shared by byaeger on BA. Thanks, Brian! Pours a clear copper color with a creamy off white head and good lacing. Great aroma with lots of sweet caramel along with piney, citrusy hops. Flavor is toffee and caramel providing a sweet malty backbone. This is a DIPA in the east coast style, and despite living on the west coast now, I like that. Blasphemous, I know. In addition to the malt, this beer has lots of citrus and pine hops as well as some resin. Palate is smooth and medium-bodied with some hoppy resins. Overall very good.

Oct 19, 2009 hazy orange color, medium off white head, nice lace. nose of sweet malt and pine hops. flavor is a sweet malt backbone, with lots of pine and citrus hops. medium bodied, long lasting citric and pine hop finish. gimme more. i liked this.

Oct 18, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown/pumpkin colored pour, minimal carbonation and a great but not overpowering hops aroma. Flavor is velvety hops, flowers and maybe a little vanilla on the finish. Very good all around, only thing that would make this better is if I could get in 6 packs instead of 4!

Oct 9, 2009 Pours a nice amber with a very thin beige head. Smells of malts, pine, and citrus. You get a large mouthful of citrus and pine, along with some caramel and oranges. This is one very good DIPA. Will definitely try this one again.

Oct 8, 2009 My 400th rating! Small pour from a bottle during a tasting of midwest IPA’s. This was the winner of the night. Huge nose, resins, caramels, malts, fruits, just delicious. Great finish coating my tongue and hammering my taste buds with bitter hoppy wonderment.

Oct 7, 2009 Bottle with thanks to DrnkMcDermott. Pours a hazy brownish copper with about a finger of thick suds. Nose is dominated by thick pine and resin aromas with a bit of a toffee/caramel malt sweetness. Flavor is pretty good... lots of pine and resin cover a malty sweet base of caramel and brown sugar. This is a little stickier than I like in an IIPA and it keeps it from letting the hops truly shine. Even with that said, it is still darn good stuff and I wouldn’t mind if the brewer up the road made this instead of their "IIPA."

Oct 6, 2009 Red amber with good, creamy tan head / Sweet, malty, caramel and pine nose / Medium body, moderately sweet, fine, full malt and hop balance, and with some sharp hops on the good finish / Flavors of cut pine, brown sugar, grapefruit, and orange / A little overly sweet, but still excellent.

Oct 5, 2009 lovely red color and fluffy white head after an aggressive pour into a tulip. truly nice malt backbone, with a hop character that is nicely balanced by the malt.
