Pine, wisps of citrus and a large buttery malt aspect in the aroma. Ruddy caramel malty flavors with pine-sol and herbal spicy hop character. Earthen bitterness in the finish, with a chalky malt aspect. Mouthfeel is medium, somewhat dry. eaglefan538 (2368), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2007 Bottle courtesy of my good friend, Bert. Poured an amber-orange tea color with a thin white head, very persistent although not impressive. The lacing was solid for that same little head. The aroma was caramel malts, tea bags, tobacco, pine resinous aspects along with some brown sugar lingering underneath or in the aftertaste. The flavor was caramel malts, some brown sugar, stronger tea bags with temperature, darned bitter hopping, really holds its bitterness (noble hopping?) with the higher malt levels. Finishes with some citrus and pine hops combined, again darned bitter, definitely doesn’t run away dIPA malty/hot. Mouthfeel was smooth, a little sticky, but the bitterness kept this a long ways away from sticky, cloying. A pretty nice dIPA. jimmack (1221), Nutley, New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 9, 2007 12oz. bottle thanks to SS. Clear dark amber color with a small off white head. Nice hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit, peach, pine and some caramel malt. Flavor was quite bitter and hoppy, with very little of the sweet malt that was in the aroma. Mostly grapefruit, with some pine and none of the stone fruit I got when smelling it. Would have preferred a bit more malt balance, but still very good. Kevin (1918), Colorado, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 3, 2007 This was an imperial IPA that I really enjoyed, a pleasant fragrance, a golden yellow colour, the proof in the taste, not too bitter, malted and not the feeling they had to dump in malt to offset the bitterness. In a word, great hopping. Carbonation was t active but it worked. Very smooth drinkable experience. Thanks a million jpm30. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2007 Bottle. Amber colour with a little head. Lovely hops noe of citrus, sweetness and little nutty too. Flavour of hops and caramel. Lovely taste, but ends up less bitter than other IIPA, remind me a little of a Amarican Barley Wine. Strong piney hop aroma which was great. Flavor was all hops with minimal malt sweetness in the background. This was good, but a bit on the one dimensional side. It needed just a bit more malt complexity for me. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
